Too late for Easter listings?

Hello! i was wondering when do you guys start posting listings for s specific date like Easter or Mother's day, also do you leave your listings all year long or do you stop renewing them when they expire and wait until the next year? thanks!!

Re: Too late for Easter listings?

I'd say it was too late for Easter this year. I know many shops list seasonal items year round.

Re: Too late for Easter listings?

Since Easter is only a few days away, I'd say its way too late for them now.

If a buyer purchased something today from you and you ship within 3 days, that means that it might not even get to the post until Saturday. Allowing a week for delivery within the USA, it wouldn't arrive to the buyer until sometime late next week.

I don't list a lot of 'date specific' items, but right now I'm doing my planning and ordering of supplies for fall and Christmas.

When I'm listing seasonal items, I try to list at least 4 months in advance. Most of my Christmas items are sold between September and October and then sales die off until July.

Re: Too late for Easter listings?

I advise ordering about two weeks before the holiday if possible (2-3 weeks at Christmas time). I will upgrade shipping, but in my opinion, it is too late now (for Easter).

I plan to keep all holiday listings up until they expire, and then will relist again (4 months prior to the particular holiday).

Re: Too late for Easter listings?

The rule of thumb in retail is start promoting the holidays two months beforehand. That is why you see stores replacing Valentines things with Easter, 4th of July with Back to School, and Halloween with Christmas.

Kim makes a great point too about letting customers know to order two weeks before the holiday in order to get it in time, and last year I saw some shops close before the Christmas holiday so people wouldn't order expecting it to get there in time.
