Many of you may have heard about Timeline for Facebook Pages being launched shortly. Page owners can start curating their Page today and all Pages will automatically get the new design on March 30. We want to know how you're using it. Try it out and link us to a screenshot in this thread and we may feature your Page in an upcoming blog post.
Danielle, I have it on my personal page Do you mean they are switching business pages also? That will be really cool to be able to go back and look a year later;)
I just began using it for my business today! I think the ability for "likers" to send messages to the business admin is great. I'm not sure I think its clarity compares to the old business page. I know I like it a lot for my personal page, but this will take some adaptation.
Yup - no more official Etsy App. And before publishing your timeline, take time to play with the settings.... as a "local business" I was able to play with the setting and make it so my website appears right under my profile picture (actual link). You are able to "pin" important posts to the top of the page and make some posts the width of the screen instead of just one half of the page.
Here is my screenshot... though I wanted to get part of the pinned message in it too. LOL
I switched yesterday! Love the look! bu then again, I was one of the first of my friends to voluntarily move my personal page to TimeLine before it became mandatory :)
I too played with the settings and it displays my website underneath my profile picture. I actually enjoy the look of timeline for my business page. I have a picture of one of my exhibits for my banner picture and then me actually painting for my profile picture.
I do not know how to take a screen shot. Could some help me with that?
I put my Etsy address in my cover photo. In the about I put the link. So it's all right there: https://www.facebook.com/PearlesPrettyPieces I think putting it in the cover photo is a good idea.
I am probably disabling the new shop. When I try to adjust settings it changes my prices. Then I have to log in and change it again.
Any ideas on FBs comments on cover photo not being for promotional things? I am guessing that means coupon codes and such but was wondering if they don't want web addresses either.
I used an image similar to my shop banner, and changed my avatar to match my profile picture. I thought having a cohesive looking facebook banner and shop banner would be nice. I used about a 750x300 image to make it fit (because facebook will stretch your image to fit the space to a 760x100 banner does not work.
Oh boy, lot of reading to do! I switched mine yesterday and I'm having a difficult time navigating everything... Thanks so much for sharing this great info Danielle!
I love the timeline! I used it as additional space to show off one of my pieces and share my shop logo and link for a more professional & branded look :)
