Whenever I notice that sales start to slow down a little I always use that time to focus on other things specifically in my shop.
Like last week I finished a bunch of orders to go out. After I cleaned up my mess, I reorganized my studio and started getting a few supplies ordered to prepare for Christmas or even the next rush. I update my Facebook page with a simple giveaway to get more interests, post to Twitter one day about what I am working on and even my Instagram page (My most favorite) with a new design I am literally in the works with or a completed design. This helps bring viewers into my shop and looking around. I also actually post my products onto Pinterest and Wanelo as people are starting to search for items for Christmas. I use Facebook Twitter and Instagram to let people know there is a REAL person here who works the shop and is very passionate about that I do. (I use three as not everyone uses all of these. I am targeting different people as I have a wide target market)
I like to add a few items to the shop that I have pictures of or I create new designs to list. I do notice a spike of orders not long after I post new products to the page which is great because then it automatically lists the listing just sold too which seems to help as well. But staying active in all of my social media's and constantly updating my shop does help. Luckily I have not been dead this year but it does take a LOT of work to stay active. With the way Etsy is, the shops that get a lot of attention work very hard to stay on top but then dominate everyone else. Just stay positive and work on improving your shop one step at a time :)
