The daily shopping guide emails

How does etsy pick the items for their daily shopping guide email that the send out? Does anyone know? Are they picked from tresuries or are they picked more randomly by an etsy employee to fit the theme of the day? Anyone know how to increase your chances of getting an item on the daily email? Have any of you ever been on the daily email and did you get any sells from it?

I think it's an Etsy employee.
I was once lucky to get one of the staff members answer to a question of mine concerning my shop and photgraphy... and BAAAM! same week I was featured in one of the find mails..... that brought THOUSANTS of views.

Do you read the Etsy Merchandising blog posts? If not, head over and read them now :). They do one each month and the selections for emails are heavily based on the themes/trends that they refer to. Best advice is to make sure your tags/descriptions are relevant so you'll get picked up if your items are related.
