I think there is a lot of misconception and paranoia going around about the supposed Facebook changes to the way your fans see your pages' updates in their newsfeed.
I've see TONS of shops freaking out about how this affects their business pages on facebook, so I did some quick hunting on the information I initially read about it and decided to share.
Here is an article from Social Fresh about the way the new promoted feature works on Facebook and how to use it if you're interested:

Quote from the article:
"What about people who already like my page?
Nothing has actually changed for people who already like your page or how posts from your page are shared with them.
All promoted posts will appear in the news feeds of the people who already like your page and if they interact with your promoted post it will be also be seen by their friends.
With these posts, they will be labeled “sponsored” posts in the news feed, but instead of ads in the column on Facebook, your promoted post will actually be in the news feed and in mobile news feeds… BONUS."
Here is Facebook's Help/FAQ Section about promoting your facebook posts:

Quote from Facebook:
"If I don’t promote my post, will the people who like my Page still see it?
Nothing has changed about how your posts are shared with the people who like your Page.
A lot of activity happens on Facebook and most people only see some of it in their news feeds. They may miss things when they’re not on Facebook, or they may have a lot of friends and Pages, which results in too much activity to show all of it in their news feed.
If you don’t promote your post, many of the people connected to your Page will still see it. However, by promoting a post, you’re increasing its potential reach so an even larger percentage of your Page audience and the friends of those interacting with your post will see it."
Hope this helps end the paranoia and stop the rumors about having to pay for your own fans to see your updates on Facebook!
