The Red Appeal??

I was reading on one of the boards yesterday that said the color red is a drawing card. So I am going to use 8 new items(all the same just different colors) I added yesterday as an example. These are the item hits so far. Check out which color has the most views already. lol

My most liked photograph is a deep red lily. The gift store that I sell items in mentioned how red is the most popular color they sell, too. I believe it!

Eh, I think its more about which colors are more bold. Your other colors were either neutrals or a more pastel/light shade of the color. I definitely think of all the red is more striking, but I wonder if you were to put up a deep emerald green if the results would be the same.

That's really interesting - I have a pair of red earrings that has definitely had the most views of all my listings. I suppose it should come as no surprise seeing as how I drive a red car, have a red wallet, etc. I'll have to start concentrating on making more red pieces.

I suspect red may get more "favorites," but I wonder if more red items sell? That is not the case in my shop. I have a number of bright red items, but lately it was my pale pink and green item that sold, because those were the colors the buyer was looking to match in her outfit. Many of my other sales have been similar - a specific need for a specific buyer. I'd be interested to know if people who sell a variety of colors of the same thing actually SELL more reds than other colors?

hmm...was that me who said that yesterday?? Tee hee, I sell a lot of red, it is my favorite color, and is striking. A lot of my clothing has red broadcloth as accents, and I am always having to buy more red broadcloth...I don't think it is a trend so much, as simply a super catching color...I also love yellow, it reminds me of sunshine :-)

I normally sell lots of blue. But that's probably because it's my favorite, so I make lots of blue things. I seriously had to force myself to make pink & purple items, and you know there are lots of purple lovers out there!

Red is my absolute favorite - which you can see by my shop name! Oh yeah, my last 4 cars have all been red too:)
I would have to say though, that although red is definitely eye catching and I do use lots of it in my jewelry, turquoise and other blue shades seem to sell the most.

That is very interesting... but I also wonder if red gets more sales or just views. I have some red sandwich and snack bags, just checked and they do seem to have more views than other colors, but we definitely sell other colors more. Maybe it just sparks people's interest to click on it - but that's certainly reason enough to have them in your shop! We gotta get people in somehow!
