Teams, Treasuries, Facebook, Twitter, Blogs... How Do I Get More Traffic??

Hi guys! I hope it's okay for me to start a new thread.

So... the title kind of sums it up. I have em all - Facebook, Twitter, Treasures, Teams, you name it! But I just have terrible traffic. I've gotten one item featured on the FP, which got that item a little attention. And I bought one of those "Promote Your Item" things for 7 bucks, but it didn't seem to do anything.

I feel invisible on Etsy! Not sure what to do, what to focus on. Is it my shop? My items (I think...) are fun and unique, and my photography is better than a lot I've seen. My prices are on par with others in the same markets. I don't think I did a very good job tagging my items. Maybe that's the problem?

What should I be focusing on? What's the best traffic-getter?

@wellcriated, don't worry building a following can often take time and patience. But keep plugging away, find other things to tweet and post about that brings a personal touch to attract conversation from your followers.

People that post and tweet only about their new products are, well....not that fun to follow. I love having conversations and getting to know fellow etsy artists and personal posts/tweets help start that dialog.

Also, its a bit hard to tell what your shop is about by your shop's profile pic. Some people advise using a pic of your best product as your profile pic. Otherwise, you're doing great, keep going!!

Hi, part of it is figuring out your target market - plus you are still brand new. Give it awhile. Also, what is your avatar picture of? I think it needs to be clear enough to associate it with your store. Are you doing any alpaca trade shows where you can hand out cards with your ETSY store on them or perhaps know other alpaca breeders, friends of alpacas, etc. that would love your items. Meanwhile give it time, participate in teams, treasuries, etc.

It seems you have an Alpaca farm? Do you collect & spin the wool yourself? It would be really interesting to shoppers to read more detail about this in your profile & description at the top of your shop -- you have a special niche market here to sell to other Alpaca lovers & knitters/fiber artists who would like to buy specialty wool.
Maybe you already have a blog about Alpaca farming ~ I'm sure these guys make for funny stories! ~ as well as your expertise on the aspects of their fine wool.

i've been viewing google analytics to see how much traffic comes from my social media.

oops. looks like i misread this. chalk it up to a cup of coffee that had no oomph this am. okay, i've been using google anaylytics to see where most traffic comes from in my shop. that may be a starting point and then you could work with those areas that produce the most traffic and tweak the ones with less traffic to see if there's an improvement. for instance. i started using the share options when listing which created a noticeable increase in two of 4 social media pages. don't know if this is helpful.
