Take a Peek at my Re-editing Project Please!

I started redoing all of my photos, but ran out of sunlight! Will someone please look at my start with the plant and rock and tell me if it is an improvement?

Thanks!

Im sure you put in a lot of work, but honestly, I think they are a distraction from the jewelry.

In the thumbnail photos, you cant clearly see the jewelry.

If it is this photo, then the background is super distracting and blurry. I like the plain background better. Maybe you could turn on the macro feature on your camera to reduce the blur (it's the flower icon).

Grab inspiration from photos that are being featured on the frontpage...

So, I'm glad I didn't do all 70 something over! What do you think of my previous pics?

Re: Take a Peek at my Re-editing Project Please!

I am not a pro at pics but I have purchased quite a bit of jewelry on etsy. As a buyer, my eye was drawn to the turquoise one you have featured mostly because the lighting on that one was the best. I also like to see items in gallery view and when I do that with your shop all I see are mugs, I would switch up your primary photos. The listings Sara provided are awesome examples of all that....white backgrounds, consistent lighting and variety in gallery view.

Nice pictures.

I'm no expert; but the earring ones with a plant and other things in the background are confusing.

Best wishes!

Re: Take a Peek at my Re-editing Project Please!

I agree with the previous post about the back ground being to distracting. It is okay to add props to your pictures, just make sure they don't compete with your item. And it is always good to make sure that your props are not directly behind your item (unless they are a plain background type of prop like books, boards and mugs)… if not you can put them to the side and maybe back a bit so they are not in focus as your item.
I agree with Karen about the mugs in gallery view (that's how I like to browse the shops too). If you decide to use mugs try to slightly vary them (angle and type of mug) so it all becomes a bit more interesting.
I think your white balance on the mug pics can use a little tweaking. It looks a bit grey...

Sara, those are great examples of photos. I would be drawn to those products.
