I read in the forums that one should repeat key words from the listings title into the first few tags used. This is new to me and to redo all my tags would be mind boggeling. Any suggestions? I thought my tags were getting pretty good.

Are those keywords in your tags somewhere, or not at all? I'm almost 100% positive that the *order* of your tags doesn't matter. While tagging and SEO advice on Etsy is all over the map (as in the thing you just read, for example) that is one thing I've read over and over that's the same.

But yes, if you're not using those keywords in your tags at all, you'll have to add them to maximize views.

I've wondered the same thing. If I have two items similar I just delete the non-appropriate tags and add ones that describe the item. In doing so, the new ones are at the bottom. To make the most pertinent tags be some of the first listed means all tags would have to be erased, new ones first and then re-type the others in. Way too much work. If there could be a way to re-arrange the tags, that would be great.

You can copy and paste the title into the field for tags and separate the phrases with commas. When you click add, it will add all the tags (up to 13) that are less than 20 characters and let you know if there are problems with anything left from your title.

You don't need to rearrange the tags. It makes no difference.

Thanks for the advice I certainly did not want to erase and restart to get title tags in the first few tag slots. . . . Is this tag work ever complete . . . Oi . . .

Actually I think most of my tags already meet that criteria . . .

Ditto above responses. The point for SEO Etsy maximazation is to include the keywords from your title into your tags. Reason:
When Etsy searches, they look for titles and tags
When Google searches, they look for titles and descriptions
So.maximize/repeat those keywords!
