Do I have the same word or diferent in the tag and title?

Some of the words in title and tags should be the same to make your product come up in the search results, but they do not have to be exactly the same.

For example A title could be: Garnet Hoop Earrings in Sterling Silver

and the Tags for this could be: Earrings, Garnet, Hoop, Jewelry, Semi Precious, Red, Gem, Stone

Interesting, someone told me that if there is repetitive word between title and tag it's not good and don't allow to be seen on the top page of search because of the new rule of relevancy...

AroundWood: I was told just the opposite. Seems there is a lot of misinformation flying around we just don't know which information that is.

My understanding is that it is best to use the same words in the title and the tags and as the first words in your description. e.g. put in title "Cotton Dress" - in the description Cotton Dress with pretty....... and then in your tags "cotton dress". hope this helps.

It has been working for me since I opened my shop about the same time as the Titles and Tags thing started, and with some help from another etsy seller I was able to get off on the right foot. You will work it out if you write a few possible words on paper that are relevant to what you sell and play around with them. Also, see what other sellers in your catagory are using.

Velvet, do you literally mean the first words? Trying to compose a better sentence, I usually begin my description with "This ..." and then my item is described in the next 2 or 3 words.

Guess I'll try your suggestion and see if it helps!
