Tag Help

Would any of you lovely people mind taking a look at my tags. I don't have too many items up yet, but I struggle with tags, especially for the scarves. They just seem redundant to me, but I don't know what else to use and want to use all the spots. Any suggestions could be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Re: Tag Help

How about:

neck warmer
winter
knitted
knitted scarf
cotton
fashion

I think your tags are pretty good already. You might work on your titles. Remember that the first 3 words in your title are the most important. Think of how someone is going to search for you. Will they look for:

multicolored thick scarf
or
knit scarf multicolored

that one little change will get you found much more quickly in a search

Also, more items help, too.

Re: Tag Help

I like neck warmer... I hadn't thought of that as it's not used often locally, but out of this area I think might be.

I really want to stay away from one word tags though. I think that's where it starts feeling redundant.

Re: Tag Help

Hi Amie,

You should read the following blog posts from the Seller Education team about tagging and relevancy for your Etsy shop. They have some great tips and the second article (Tag-o-rama) has keywords that may help you as you look to branch out from what you already currently use:

http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2011/shop-makeover-titles-descriptions-and-tags/
http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2009/seller-how-to-tag-o-rama-with-descriptive-keywords/
http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2007/guidelines-tips-tagging-on-etsy/

You should keep an eye on the Seller Handbook: http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/the-etsy-seller-handbook-all-our-how-tos-about-selling/, which has a collection of our best articles to help sellers of all stages.

Good luck!
Sara
