I'm not an expert by any means, but after participating in Search Ads, I learned to eliminate tags like "colorful" and "handmade" or "one of a kind." People just aren't using these words as search terms. Multi-word tags are really good too. Use "fingerless gloves" not just "fingerless." Remember, you can always change them again if they don't work. Good Luck!
I would search Hand knitted so it may be good to have that at the beginning of some of your titles, Hand knitted gloves, hand knitted mittens, knit wrist warmers, fingerless gloves wool, see which titles get the most views, if you change a couple of titles also re-list the item so it gets seen.
You want to try to think like a buyer. What would they type in to find your products. Maybe like "knitted gloves" or "fingerless gloves" "gloves", something super simple like that. If you put "handmade pink and white striped gloves" no one is going to search for that. Keep it simple.
Thanks, Ashley! But that exactly the problem! I was sure that I fallow that rule- thinking like a buyer - but somehow it didn't work out.
And I use those tags as " knitted gloves" "fingerless mittens" " women gloves" exc. But I can not find my items even in first 10 pages when I search for mittens or gloves or fingerless gloves!
Having them appear multiple times has helped me. So put in gloves, glove, knitted glove, knitted gloves, knitted. You have 13 tags, use them all. Also, I do put in misspellings, including knited, glov, etc.
Make sure you try to repeat the words you use in the title eg. "Knitted mittens" should be in your title, part of your description and one of your tag words. Also use commas between the phrases in your title rather than slashes.
I'm not sure if it really makes that much difference, but it helps me to be on the first 2 pages.
BTW, you have beautiful things and your photos are great. Keep working, sales will come!
One thing I changed was instead of pink, green, wool use the tags pink gloves, green gloves. It seems redundant but, you will be found easier. Also If you can find a way to be in more then one category split it up to get more items seen. Don't put everything in women's accessories as that limits you, too.
another thing, winter is giving way to spring and people might not be searching for winter-like items. Have you thought of doing more spring-like things? I know your shop name kind of limits you to mittens or gloves but you could maybe do a lightweight glove for easter or something. just a thought.
I agree with dieseline. Repeat words in your tags a lot. I think that helps. Like "green gloves", "knit gloves", "warm gloves" and then switch to "mittens"--"green mittens", "knit mittens", "warm mittens". See if that helps. Your product is gorgeous, pictures wonderful, shop cohesive, banner great!
Instead of using 'warm' in your title or 'premium' keep it more simple. People assume mittens are warm. Try "Men's knit mittens. Blue Gold striped wool and acrylic".
hmm.. Really? I would look "warm" for sure! But it's maybe because I live in Latvia and on Winter here is - 25 C -and you definitely have to wear two pairs of mittens to keep your self warm :D And even then it's better to don't go outside ! :D So word " WARM" is very popular here!
If I'm stumped for tags I do a search of similar items.
Then I look at the item tags of those shops that show up in the first couple of pages. Sometimes they just have a good following, or are paying for ads, but most often they have really good tags.
I've learned a lot about tags by mentoring off those shop owners with items showing up on page 1 or 2 of an Etsy search.
