Style Tag help, please?

I'm excited about the new style tags! Until I realized I have no idea how to define mine. My designs are children's toys with a bright, fun aesthetic, but not too busy with simple solids and prints. Some are educational, some are interactive. Most are cute, but not cutesy. Anyone want to weigh in on my style tags?

I sometimes use "folk" because I think of my work as homespun and simple - but maybe that's the wrong use of the word?

My home decorating style seems to have the same sort of fun colors and quaintness. I call it cottage. If that helps at all. :)

Re: Style Tag help, please?

Thanks, Kouture Crochet - I am thinking about the list of style tags the tech team has just added to our listings. I'm hoping to use one on the list, or find a category that sounds like it could be on the list.

Also, I just looked up "cottage style" and that wasn't what i thought it was at all - I don't think that's anything like me. Too frilly and beige. :)

Okay, I think I may be leaning towards eclectic - what do you think?

Re: Style Tag help, please?

I've been wondering the same thing for my shop! It's tricky.

Since there isn't one 'Style' that seems to encompass my overall shop, I've been approaching each item individually.

The 'Style' tags that I would pick for specific items in your shop may include: Folk, Woodland, Fantasy, or Historic.

If you have any feedback on my shop 'Style' I'd love to hear it. It's hard to have perspective on your own work.

KoutureCrochet has a good point - where is the 'Cute' tag? :)

Re: Style Tag help, please?

Yeah, I have been approaching them individually too. And I think you picked the 4 I used most, so that's good! Makes the most sense, i guess. But I still feel like I'm just guessing or reaching too far.

Seems like "cute" might be too broad?

I LOVE your work, Bonjourpoupette! I can see how you're in the same sort of indefinite place as me. It's not as easy as if you were naming clothing or decorating styles. But, I would use tags like: Kitsch, folk?, woodland. I like how emotive your animals are - that seems like something that definitely sets your work apart from other cute animals stuff.
