Stumbleupon

Can anyone tell me how to promote my shop through Stumbleupon? How do you use it and does it create more views and sales?

Thank You and Merry Christmas to you!

You download the stumbleupon bar and then just click stumble or I like it when you are on a page(your shop or items from your shop) and than people will see that page.It gets you views and maybe sales.I got only views.I'm new at this too, hope this helped

Re: Stumbleupon

It's an awesome tool (and app)!

I'm new to Etsy and I was on StumbleUpon before opening my shop. The entire idea of the app is that it will bring up stuff that it thinks you will like every time you click "Stumble." The more you use it and the more you rate pages the better and more specific the stuff becomes. That's how it works.

For Etsy (and what I did) it's a little tougher and takes more work. While you can put the button on your pages to get random “likes” you can also start using the tool and "like" your own pages. This way others with similar interests will "Stumble" into your shop. To do this, I was using the app one day and it linked to a random Etsy store, once there I was able to search for my shop and start liking my items/pages. Now if someone with similar interests it using the app they might (and have) Stumble into my shop. I’ve been using it for about a week and have around 45 views from it for free form people that may have never heard of Etsy.

That’s it in a nut shell, but if you have more questions let me know or reply to this post and I’ll try to help.

Cheers,

- Jake C.

Re: Stumbleupon

Stumleupon is awesome! but beware... you really aren't supposed to use it to promote yourself. So you join this awesome team http://www.etsy.com/teams/10894/promote-thru-stumbleupon-ect and promote your team mates while they promote you! voila! everyone is happy!

Re: Stumbleupon

You can use Stumbeupon Paid Discovery to put up ads for your shop, and it costs .10 per click onto your site. I've put $10.00 into it and am getting daily traffic from it. No sales yet, but I figure it just takes time. It's much cheaper than facebook ads and seems like a growing trend, so I'm happy to try it. $10.00 isn't much of a risk. I have a $1.00 per day limit (until the 10 is gone), so I usually get the full ten views per day.

Re: Stumbleupon

Stumbleupon will only let you like so many items from a certain page. And it considers Etsy to be one huge page. I got view the first day I liked my items and never again. Seems like a waste to me as you can only like a certain number of items and then they may or may not get traffic after the fact.

Re: Stumbleupon

There is also this Stumble upon team:
http://www.etsy.com/teams/11105/stumble-i-cant-even-stand-up-straight

After checking out the two major ones I picked this one........

They are really great with helping EVERYONE out and figuring out how to work the site, stumbling things for other people, etc...
