Statistics, please help

Dear Etsians,

Here are some numbers I don't understand:

89 Views on my shop today
41 favorites for today (great!!! and 8 of them shop favorites)
773 circles total
57 Twitter followers (I just started)
1921 Facebook fans on my page

ONLY 5 SALES???

What am I still doing wrong??? Please, help. I want to make it work!

Keep Calm and Etsy On is all I can say,

I glanced over your shop, and according to seller handbook suggestions, you're doing it all. Lots of listings, great pictures, use of tags and titles, lots of social networking.

There are Etsy shops that specialize in Etsy shop help. For example, you can buy Etsy help packets or buy professional shop critiques. (I've actually been really interested in the latter, but don't want to do it until I have more items in my shop. anyone have experience with these?) But if your interested, you can look into those.

I have a book on Etsy (How to make money using Etsy) and I had my shop critiqued few times and most importantly I *followed* the suggestions... Is it just a matter of time and maybe some luck? Many people told me that it's just that the jewelry field is too crowded... who knows...

I looked at your shop and you have some cute stuff... my only suggestion would be to lighten/brighten up your pictures... they are quite dark.

Etsy is a work in progress... play with your titles and match your tags : )

I agree with Lori, your shop seems to be set up really well. Jewery is way tough to sell on etsy though. I'd say just keep listing items and don't give up! Only advice I can think to give is maybe brightening up your photos just a tad, so the white is more true.

Your right, the jewelry field is really hard to sell in. How did you find the shop critiques? Did you learn anything you didn't already know?

Also, I just had another suggestion. You jewelry is beautiful, but like I said, it might just be getting drowned in the etsy jewelry field. Have you heard of Tophatter? It's an online auction where people can auction live your your item. A lot of of the sellers are from etsy. Anyway, it's pretty cool, and might help you get notice outside of etsy. have a link to your etsy shop and hopefully you can get more sells. Check it out at tophatter.com.

Lately I've been working on my photos a lot. I just feel like if I brighten the picture a lot, the colors of my item are washing off too.
So I'm playing with my camera now - Manual settings, light box, custom white balance, etc. I think the pictures look much better, compared to the ones from the very beginning :) As you said - work in progress...

I'd love to see some light coming through those crystal pieces to make them shine...Try to dangle them on a prop with some natural back light, rather than photo them flat on a surface and I think you'll be amazed at the depth. Carry on!

My only suggestion (and it's not a terribly original one) is find a way to brighten our photos to make your jewelry pop from the page. It's so pretty but the photos don't really grab you.

I'll try that too. The problem with photos is that if I brighten them too much the colors of my items disappear. I was suggested not to take pictures in a bright light - indoors by window and outdoors in a shade or on overcast day. I love the light in the crystals, but then there is a shade from the objects too. I'll try to come up with a better setting though!

Evelina, Your shop title under your shop name and your announcement do not for for relevancy searches. You have to say more than beautiful jewelry since everyone on Etsy who sells jewelry would say they sell beautiful jewelry. Your announcement should elaborate on your jewelry and not talk about specials or sales until the end. Both the announcement and the shop title are used to find your shop make the most of them.

Hi, Harriet! Thank you for pointing this out - I'm aware that the shop announcement is relevant to the SEO, but I wanted to attract sales with the coupon code and I saw that many people would put it on top (otherwise you can't see it). It will expire in 2 days and the announcement will look like it was originally.
As for the shop name... It's my name (scrambled) and it has "Jewelry" there - what else can I have?
