(I posted this in one of the other teams I belong to, so apologies to those who are on both and have to see this twice!)

Have any of you used this? I just saw someone with it yesterday and ordered one for myself.

Here's a review: www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2380586,00.asp

In a nutshell, it's a little add-on to your iPhone or iPad that allows you to take credit cards as a payment when you're out and about. (Craft Fairs?) And how about when you're out to dinner with a group of friends and trying to split up the bill?

Their fees are 2.75% of each transaction. PayPal's are 2.95% plus .30 cents.

I haven't found any reason not to use it...have any of you heard anything about it or tried it yet?

Re: Square Mobile Credit Card Device

I don't have a smart phone yet. The man at verison said I could use an android or tablet as well. He recommended the tablet as you could showcase your wares on it as well as take payment.
Thanks for the comment that an I touch would work if you have wi-fi that would be helpful in the time period before upgrading my phone.

Re: Square Mobile Credit Card Device

I love my square but it doesn't work well with my otter box so I have to take the case off. Customers love it too.

I have one for my 3G iPad and it's awesome! you can even enter numbers manually if you don't have the slider.

Re: Square Mobile Credit Card Device

I have it and love it but was told by a buyer (not mine) that her CC # was stolen after using someone's Square at a show. I have been a bit wary since then but so far no problems for me.

Re: Square Mobile Credit Card Device

Good to hear all the good reviews on the square and some of the warnings too since I just got the square. I have as yet to use it with even my credit card. And I have an otter case on it. So that warning is good to know as well.

Re: Square Mobile Credit Card Device

To use a printer with square you need to have a secure network to connect an iPad and the printer. that is meant for small B&M stores, not traveling shows.

Receipts are sent to customers cell or e-mail , and when you get a bunch of folks at a show using square, when the customer puts there info in for the receipt at one vendor, and use that same card at the next the info is already in the system. They don;t have to enter it twice.

Tell people your going green and not using paper anymore

Square lets anyone become a "real" business by taking credit cards
