I opened shop about 2.5 weeks ago. I know that I still need some more items, etc, and since I don't want to blow all my money on relisting (though I have set aside about $3-5 a week for relisting) I know it's going to take time for people to find me. But I've had 4 sales in that time (2 from my aunt and 2 from others) and I just had a friend contact me that she wants to buy 3 custom items from me!
I know that the majority of my sales right now are coming from people I know, but at the same time, this affirms that I made the right choice to open my shop! It still needs work and I still need to dedicate more time to it, but it makes me excited about the future. I don't necessarily expect this to turn into a full-time gig, but I see the possibility of a great side gig.
Also, it is a wonderful feeling to have others affirm your craft! To know you spent all that time sewing/pattern making/creating/learning new techniques, and then have others tell you they like it enough to buy it? A great confidence boost and gives me that push to create more!
I just had to share this with someone and couldn't think of anyone better than my fellow crafters/artists. Keep working hard at what you do!
