So confused! So so confused

I really don't understand why I am not having sells... I just checked my stats and already for the day I have 116 views.... most days lately I end around 200 views... so what am I doing wrong?

Re: So confused! So so confused

Your stats are great! But remember that stats do not equal sales. Your shop is very well put together. It will happen. It happens very slowly at first. Some shoppers are wary of purchasing from a new shop. But a few people will buy, and then a few more. Give it time.

Oh, and make sure you are marketing outside of Etsy. I'm not very good at that, so I can't give you advice there. But Etsy just provides the shop. You have to get people there.

Re: So confused! So so confused

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that... I also wanted to maybe narrow my selection down... and then I was thinking "How can I possibly do that if I don't know what people like" but just now I realized... it doesn't matter! I need to find my niche, and the right buyers will find it :)

Thank you!

Hi, Shantel, by all means give it some time and promote outside of Etsy. I recommend using all the photos available (on model, back, in shipping materials, etc). Adorable items!!

Re: So confused! So so confused

Shantel - you have only been open a few weeks. It took me about 6 months to get my first non-friend/family sale. You have to promote, promote, promote inside and outside of Etsy. I use WANELO and I think your product line may do well there. It is full of young twenty-something girls who want to buy. So check WANELO out and post your items to your profile there.

Also, I would work on your photos. Try and use a white board or box to remove some of the shadows. Also, see if you can photo your product on a model - that really helps buyers visualize what the item looks like when used. Remember, with an on-line store people cannot touch and feel, turn over and examine your work so take photos of every angle, clasp, etc and on a person so they can see all aspects of your work.

Good luck and relax about sales, as has already been said "it takes time."

Where are your views coming from? Are they search views, from Etsy teams, or from off-Etsy? Having lots of views is nice but they have to be from people who want your product. See where your views are coming from, check what keywords are drawing people in and go from there.

Re: So confused! So so confused

it's important to design your tags and titles with buyers in mind! There's lots of lookie-loos on Etsy just passing time (I should know, I do it a lot), you need to make sure serious buyers are also finding you. I tweaked my tags to be more specific and found that although I had less views, my sales shot up.

Also, try to just relax and not worry about sales so much. I know it's hard, but all things in due time!

Re: So confused! So so confused

Barbara,
do you use wanelo to simply post your products there?
I have yet to fully understand things like wanelo and pinterest.

Re: So confused! So so confused

Thank you for the tips! I haven't heard of Wanelo before, and I do have a pinterest (which I don't use often because pinterest is a complete time suck LOL)

This. It's all about closing the deal. Be less browser-friendly and more buyer-friendly. Not all who look at your products are looking to buy, but with the right selling tools and techniques you can convince them to buy. You may want to do some studying up on sales techniques and proper methods for effective selling. I've just started reading Steven W. Martin's book Heavy Hitter Selling and it's really good so far.

I would try to get more of your items modeling on the little ones. Cuteness sells! I bet that would really draw a lot more attention and sales to your shop. Good luck! :)

Re: So confused! So so confused

I agree that Pinterest is a huge time suck - It also is populated by many DIY people. They are more likely to go to Pinterest for ideas and then try and make it themselves. Wanelo, to me, is much more about buyers. Also Wanelo doesn't have any regulations against posting your own items to your profile so you can create a "collection" of just your Etsy inventory. My views increased after I started using Wanelo last November and I know I have gotten some sales from people who found me on Wanelo. Mostly my NFL and MLB bootie designs.... Like I said before the people on Wanelo look to be young and female so jewelry, cell phone covers, things that appeal to that age group should do pretty well. I would go on, create a profile, and start looking around and follow people you like. It will build rapidly from there.

Re: So confused! So so confused

I think you are right wanelo does seem to be for younger crowd. Well younger compared to me. My daughters are in college and they love wanelo. But your bows may work on wanelo because some of their friends do have little ones.
Good Luck
