Sick!!! Shipping delay. HELP!

Hi all! I would love your opinion on this. I have been really really sick the last couple of days and I am heading out of town tomorrow. My initial plan was to finish up any orders that needed to go out yesterday and today, but I have spent the last two days in bed. I have a few orders that are scheduled to go out this weekend, and I'm not sure what to do. If I delay shipping I will for sure refund shipping plus a small discount, is that tacky in general? I don't know how people will react. Or am I best to pull an all nighter and get them done? I HATE having to even consider this, and I am normally shipping around 3 days before the shipping deadline. Any ideas? How would you handle it? As a customer what would be best?

Sorry you haven't been feeling well.

I've been dealing with the fact that my partner had emergency heart bypass surgery three weeks ago today and the way I've handled the shipping is that I've always had my processing time set for 1-3 days to give me a bit of breathing room.

And even though I usually have packages in the post the following business day, during these past few weeks I've really appreciated having that extra couple of days.

If I were you I would simply finish all orders that are due out before I went away for the weekend.

Thanks crochetgal! I'm just worried there aren't enough hours in the day. :/ I've got around 4-5 hours of work, and it is nearly 11 o'clock here. Then we've got to be up, packed, and driving 3.5 hours in the morning. :/

How long are you going to be out of town? If its just a day or two delay in shipping I think refunding the shipping cost would be acceptable. If you are going to be gone on a week long family vacation I would try to get them out tonight.

I will be back in town on Sunday. So realistically they would ship Monday or Tuesday. But Tuesday is more likely.

Could you bring everything to a hotel and ship it while you are out of town?

I think if you told people you've been sick and that they will get their shipping refunded they should be fine. If I was your customer in this situation I would tell you to get well and send when you get back.

I wish! That would make things much easier. We are camping, and between the dirt and the smoke, it wouldn't be wise. :(

Ha ha! Come go with us! :) It should be fun! We've been planning a trip to Arches National Park with some friends for awhile now. So we are excited to go. It'd just be better if this would just magically take care of itself. :) Fairy Godmother please? :)
