Just wondered if any of you have tried a Showcase spot and what the results were? Was it worth the money you spent? I would be interested to know. Thanks.

I have never tried it, but from other discussions i have read, i didn't get a positive feedback about this.

The question I ask anyone who is considering buying a showcase spot is 'How many times have you actually looked at the showcases?"

For the $7 you can get much more exposure by listing 35 new items in your shop.

Just my 2cents.

I agree with crochetgal. You can get a lot more exposure by listing 35 new items than spending $7 on the showcase spot.

I think it depends on what showcase you are in. I think buyers actually do check out the weddings showcase. I have only done it a few times, the most recent one was in August and it gave me a little over 100 views but about 20 likes and one order. I see you sell wedding items so you may have success with it.

However that was my most successful one. The previous 2 just gave me more views and a few more hearts.

I too agree with crochetgal, I never look in showcases. But I honestly think brides do.

So the moral of my story is it's hit or miss!

Personal note to self: what am I doing on Etsy at this hour?!

Thank you FamilyGlue, I have a spot booked in the wedding showcase for next week so we will see how it goes. I will let you know. I am not expecting any miracles - just doing one to get some exposure and see how it goes.

I've seen a lot of people report more views but no extra sales. I agree though, I almost never look at the showcase, I usually just skip over it.

As promised, I said I would let you know how my Showcase went. I am rather pleased with it as my views and favourites were up 4 -5 times. I had two direct enquiries as a result although no actual sales. As a new shop and trying to refine things and see how it all works I have booked another Showcase for a few weeks time. When I started my shop I did not expect miracles and I am prepared to give things 12 months before I start to question whether the shop will work or not. Time will tell. Thank you for all your comments.
