Showcase, showcase !!! how does your shop benefit from it???

Dear friends,
I opened my shop on August 7th, and have purchased 3 showcases on Accessories - ETSY. but the traffic does not go very well and i feel not really benefit from it.
First showcase on august, just 75 people visit my shop, and the latest one is just 36 visits. Did i do any thing wrong? Please help ! I need your advice !!!!

I have done 3 showcases, with no luck. I am giving it one more try on the 8th of this month but at this point I am pretty sure I will not do another one? Anyone have any luck with it?

I have not had luck with showcases, either. Spend the money instead on listing more items and buying supplies. $7 is a lot of money to "buy" views.

No, you haven't done anything wrong. I did two showcases, but didn't get much more than views. I've read a lot of discussions where people pretty much said the same thing. You're better off spending that money on Project Wonderful where you can get ads for a fraction of the cost.

Thank you very much for all ur sharing. 7 $ is really a lot. I think it's better I make new designs, products and list them on etsy instead of spending money for showcase. And spend more time on facebook page and the other marketing tool outside etsy.

I had one and it brought me about 100 views and a few hearts, I might try it out again in the future, but so far, it is not in my immediate plans

Just ran three in a row on August 31st and then the 1st and 2nd. I would not recommend spending the money. I had no additional sales.

I have also showcased my items when I first opened my store and feel the money spent could have been better spent elsewhere. I feel treasuries are a better way of advertising. Good luck!

I generate more view by doing a good treasury and spreading the word about it as best I can than doing a showcase. I have only tried one so far, but with zero success and I am really frustrated about never being able to get a spot where I want one in the first place, no matter how early I try.

Thank you for the information and advise. We had tried to get showcase space but it was always filled before we could register. Now we know it doesn't work, we'll use the money on adding more to our store and supplies.

Project Wonderful is an ad service. Basically, you bid on ad space on a specific site. Obviously, bigger sites with more views have more expensive bids. As long as you're the highest bidder, you get your ad on the site you've bid for.
I've gotten views through Project Wonderful while spending only a few cents a day. Some smaller sites have free bids.
And I've tried a couple showcases myself. A few views and that's it. Not worth it.

As a new shop I have purchased quite a few showcase spots. Not so much hoping for sales but, rather to let people know I'm here. It's worked so far as views but, it hasn't translated into sales.
I think it's good for a new shop to run a couple of showcases, even if just to make people aware of your shop. Then leave it at that. $7 here and there definetly adds up.
I agree with many of the others. Get yourself out there via treasuries, facebook, blogs etc. I have viewed many a shop just by these forums alone!

I use Project Wonderful. I'm in a funny niche market and so long as I'm paying no more than 10c a view, I'm happy. Not sure if that's what you get from a showcase.
I found my jewelry supply store can get views for about 2c each there, which is a bit better.

Figure out what you're willing to pay for traffic, and be prepare to drop bids on PW if you don't think it's worth it.
