Showcase -- Your exeperience?

I finally got a showcase for tomorrow. I am hoping it will generate sales, at least views. Does anyone have any experience to help me guess what to expect?

The Showcases I purchased never led to any sales - I hope it will be different for you!

The showcase I purchased did lead to a lot of views. Items were marked as favorites as well....and I did get a sale, but I don't know if was a result from me showcasing my items.

I wonder if Etsy has any case studies on the ripple effects of Views and Favorites? Like the average % lift in sales when your item or shop gets a favorite. I know that favorites lead to more views and ultimately more sales, but how much?

I did two different ones, not that many views for both and no sales, I also tried the add thing, didn't really work for me.

I did two showcases in 2011. Generated lots of views but no sales on those days. I would love to hear how it works out for you!

Susan, I can't say that showcases specifically worked for me, but I can't say that they didn't either. It is definitely exposure for your shop, which is always a good thing. I didn't get any sales the say that I had my showcase, but my favorites jumped for the day. I did notice that after I had the showcase, about a couple weeks later, I got a lot of interest in my shop, and as a result made a few sales. I've noticed the same with the search ads, I haven't been able to track any direct business from them, but when they are up the interest in my shop is high, and I've received a few sales with time. So I guess be patient. And renew your listings. I think it also helps to add at least one new listing per week.

The showcase I ran a couple of weeks ago did not generate any sales and minimal views. After I had already purchased it and set it up another team member said that it's been tagged the Newbie showcase because everyone starting out feels the need to do it ;-( Maybe your experience will be different - be sure to let us know!
