Showcase Bad Experience

Hi everybody!
I reserved a spot to be on Etsy's showcase on August the 19th. I really was not expecting a whole bunch of sales, although I was really hoping for some, but what I did expect was much more traffic into the items that were being "showcased".
I kept a little log of how many views and favorites each of those items had, and to my disappointment, only the first item had a increase of maybe 10 views.
They promise to put you on the top of your item's category for 24 hours.... I can't believe that they did that and only TEN people clicked to check them out.... Has anybody else had a bad experience with this service?

I had a bad experience with the showcase as well, will never waste money on it again!

I bought a spot a couple months ago, it came and went and had no effect. I think relisting for that amount would have been more effective.

I have never tried out any showcases, but I've never heard of anyone who had a good experience with it!

My first experience got me lots of views....but no one wanted my item.

2nd experience got me almost no views.....
I am also questioning the process....the fee is not too hard to take but the lack of views tells me that the Showcase process needs tweaking.

I've purchased showcases atleast once a month for a while now and get plenty of views on my items but no sales have come from those specific views.

I have a feeling that's why the suprise is coming and showcases will go away.

Not a big fan of the "Showcase" spent a lot and nothing??? Maybe one Sale???

I have heard negative things about showcases and recently found out about a free way to increase your views...a lot of team members from Vintage Etsy Society have been signing up. I signed up yesterday and already have views showing up in my shop stats.

I did a couple of showcases just beause I'm very new to Etsy and didn't have any followers yet. My overall traffic was higher and I'm in more circles now. What I have an issue with is that there are never any spots in the Vintage showcase! Very frustrating!

I've gotten more views from teams & circles then the showcase I've done 2 & won't do them again... I promote with fb & twitter along with relisting

I had too many hits with no sales and that was upsetting. I think if Etsy promotes themselves more we wouldn't just get hits from sellers on Etsy who have no money to buy since they are running their own business. Right?

I've tried a few showcases in the past, but not recently. While I got more views, I didn't get any sales directly from the showcase. I'm trying just to add more listings on a routine basis, but it takes time!

I have purchased the showcase about 4 times...I have never had a single sale on the days it went live. :( Extremely disappointing, so now I save the money and invest the time in listings, keywords, titles and tags instead.

Also, I am new to Etsy and have three shops. I purchased a showcase when I opened my first shop and didn't even see. I have another scheduled for tomorrow for one of my shops will see how it goes. I have a vintage shops can I join the Etsy Vintage Society?

Wanelo stands for WAnt NEed LOve and it is a new website whose sole purpose is to help people find unique products and new stores. I did, Six days I purchased in july and no extra traffic whatsoever and when I asked if there was a way to track where I was promoted on the site they said no.
So they basically guarantee nothing......

Thanks everybody for your quick answers. It only confirms that this Showcase thing is nothing but a ripoff. Can you imagine $7.00 out of how many etsians' pockets???? That is crazy. I will never do it again! Thanks for the tip, I will definitely take a look at www.wanelo.com site and sign up! I hope this post helps other people make the right decision before buying into this "promoting" tool that is nothing but a scam to me.

showcases are a waste of money i keep telling people that. you can set your $7 of fire instead because thats a better use for $7 than the "showcase"

I showcased twice and I received lots of views and Hearts but that was it. I get as many views being in a treasury of posting it to my FB page. I didn't have a negative experience w/ the showcase...but it wasn't a great experience either.
Like others have said...the showcase is a waste of money.

I paid for five showcases and no one saw them including me. My last one was Monday and I and others looked for it but never saw it. Where are they? I do not think they were ever "showcased".
