Should I open a new shop to sell different stuff?

When I was a kid, I used to collect stickers. Now I got a ton of them - pop out, easter, valentines, christmas, ALL KINDS OF THEM!

So I decided to sell them now.
But I was wondering, should I put them in a new shop?
Or is it okay to mix it up with my own?

Re: Should I open a new shop to sell different stuff?

I recently received this link by email and somewhere on it or a link there was query about mixing items in one shop vs having separate shops. The advice was put energy into one shop and make it look cohesive (using the tips). You might want to look at this. I would also be interested in hearing other Etsians' experience.

Re: Should I open a new shop to sell different stuff?

Catherine, you beat me to it. I attended that online lab, and it was very helpful. The key is that as long as you can relate the various items in your shop to each other, then it's okay to mix it up a bit. For example, it'd be fairly easy for me to add hand-knitted accessories to my shop because in essence, accessories are what I'm selling to begin with. I'd redo my sections and then add links back and forth between jewelry and the knitted items. To keep with my theme of "repurposed, reclaimed, rescued," I might choose to make these things from reclaimed yarn. Hmmm....that's actually not a bad idea. *wanders off muttering to self*

I think that judging on the content of your current shop you would be better off opening a second shop that you could base entirely around your sticker collection. If you put them with your current items I would feel your shop was a bit random

=)
