Should I just give up and move on?

She had it posted on her shop page that she would be willing to take payments.
I found some beautiful Amathyst beads in deep amathyst color. She agreed to let me pay them out, my last payment this month. Then I sent some money and when I sent convo's she would not write back. I see the beads were sold. This happened right after I sent the money. She said she was going to go ahead and send them to me before I paid them off. I have seen nothing yet and she won't respond to my convo's. Should I just give up and move on? Should I report her? Tell others about the experience so they could be warned. People should just do what they say they would do or not be in business.

Rhonda,
I hope you saved all correspondences between the two of you.
I don't know how much time has passed since your last convo but I may write to the shop again.
I am unsure how you paid. If through Paypal you can file a report against the seller.
I think you should bring the issue up w/ Etsy.
And that is all you can do really.
I wouldn't publicly shame the shop.
Good luck.

Re: Should I just give up and move on?

I'm sorry this happened to you. Did you pay through PayPal? If you did, I would file a claim stating that the items were never received. PayPal gives you a 45 day window to resolve a dispute. This will put the seller on warning with PP and hopefully you'll get your money back.

In the future, I would suggest asking the seller to make a "reserved" or "custom" listing. In this case, the listed item (such as beads) would be marked as "Reserved for Rhonda" so that other buyers are less likely to buy it.

If you are unfamiliar with PayPal, please Google their customer service number and talk to a live person. Sometimes they just talk in circles, but many times, they are really helpful and can give you some advice.

No, we did not go through paypal. I'm not set up w/PayPal yet and she said on her listing that she would take money orders. It seems that everyone is going to paypal these days. Money order was also an option for her for payment so I sent a money order.

Even if you sent her checks or money orders, there is a paper trail. In this case, I would put the claim in dispute. Whether or not you went through 'paypal', this seller does not have the right to take your money, and not give you the merchandise.
