Shop is open but sales aren't coming in!

I began selling personalized Wineglasses in my shop a couple of months ago and I love it, but I am not getting any sales.

I try to list a new item or two each day, I do promoting here and on my FB page, Pinterest, Wanelo and a few other places.

I see other card sellers here who have thousands of sales and they are priced higher than I am. I think my prices are good, and my glasses are nice. I get on average, 150 views a day and lots of favorites.. but low sales.

Any advice?

Your glasses are super cute! Maybe use a lightbox for pictures? The shadows in most of your pics are distracting to me. Your titles could also be better; try to say what the item is in the first three words or so. Like "Frozen Drink Glass Tropical Paradise Hand Painted" or something. Just a bit of rearranging. Other than that, just get more items in there and be patient. It takes time!! :)

Oh, and use all 5 photo spaces. It's hard for me too, but give your potential buyers different angles and views of the items. And make sure you aren't posting blurry pictures. Good luck! :)

Your shop shows you opened on Feb. 5, 2012 and have gotten 4 sales. I think that's pretty good for a brand new shop. I opened last Sept. but didn't start listing items until the end of January. I do everything you do and have gotten zero sales. You've got a nice product. Keep doing what you're doing. The sales will come more frequently.

You must be seeing something different than I am Judy. I only see one sale. Which is still good, don't get me wrong.

Re: Shop is open but sales aren't coming in!

I started listing in december...I've had five sales. I started getting more traffic once I had 50 (Yes, 50!) items in my shop...so get more stuff in there!

Don't get discouraged! I had my shop open for 2 months before I had the first sale! Your glasses are cute... but I would brighten up your pictures some and start adding more and more glasses! :) Good luck!

the thing that seemed to help me the most was increasing the items available in my shop. definitely need to get more of a selection in your shop. how about glasses that are holiday or occasion specific, like "happy anniversary", etc?

Re: Shop is open but sales aren't coming in!

For a shop that's been open less than a month I'd say you are doing quite well.

Use all of your photo slots, and finish building your shop by adding shop policies and a shop title.

Continue to add merchandise until the shop has enough of a variety so that anyone who walks in just feels compelled to buy.

Then pull out your marketing plan and keep on trucking!

The pure fact that you love what you do means sales will come. Just continue to work on your pictures--I agree will megan about using a lightbox, or at least a white background. I also notice you don't have a facebook page, or twitter linked to your Etsy.

Re: Shop is open but sales aren't coming in!

Maybe you can show the glasses in use. A cute outdoor party, a table with sunday brunch or a candle lite dinner?

Give customers ideas about how fabulous your glasses would look.
I know that sounds like alot of work but I got that advice and tweeked my props and I get more looks and eventually hoping more sales.

Hope that helps.

I agree with the others you are doing well considering you've only been open less than a month. It will happen for you, start promoting more and adding items on a regular basis.

I opened my shop the end of December, I promoted very little during Januray. I didn't even consider joining facebook, twitter, or teams but as soon as I did all 3....I got lots of tips for improving my shop, more views per day, and eventually a sale. Yay! I believe it was a combination of all 3 that I even got my first sale.

You are doing well for just opening. I was getting frustrated last week because I hadn't had a sale in a week and then I had 11 sales over the weekend! I have only been open 2 months. It takes time!

Re: Shop is open but sales aren't coming in!

I opened a shop in September 2011 and I think I've had 4 sales. It is frustrating because I am just not getting views. I started researching the Etsy blog and found TONS of helpful tips on how to list to get your items found in a search. I am in the process now of re-doing my shop and hoping it helps! I would check out all the articles they have. They are really helpful!!
