Shop Help/Critique

Hello team!

I've been on Etsy since the end of February and haven't been able to sell much. I have 275 admirers but only 4 sales. I just recently added unique dream catchers to diversify my shop. I am trying to do all that I can to improve it. I lowered my prices awhile back and still no sales. I sent my lampshade to a blogger and got lots of views from her blog readers and positive comments. I just don't know what else I should do. I try not to feel down, but I guess today is just one of those days. I participate in lots of teams, I make lots of treasuries, I have Facebook and just started a blog where I post regularly. I'm also advertising on a blog, and have swapped buttons with other bloggers. Does anyone have any advice for me?

Your advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Felicia

Re: Shop Help/Critique

I would suggest trying to make your shop look a bit more cohesive and show off your product a bit better. Try to get all your items on one background. The textured wall would be okay, but in some photos it looks pretty dim.

Also, you have a couple set up like this one:

This photo looks to me to be selling the couch not your dream catcher. You may want to redo those as well.

That being said, you've only been here since February. It can take a while to get going. Patience is a necessity with Etsy.

Thanks Amie, I just changed the picture above. I wanted to show what it would look like with others in a room setting, but I guess having the actual product would be better.

i love room setting photos! i think they may just need to be slightly more zoomed in. instead of showing the entire room. just show a little tiny niche of it.

Re: Shop Help/Critique

I think that titling your lampshades as knit lampshades, with those being in the first three words might help with searches. Changing it up with some of the titles to spell lamp shade differently would also help you show up in more searches. Also, rework your tags. One word tags and tags that are just descriptive of the colors, patterns, or styles aren't really helpful. Use tags like knit lampshade, crochet lampshade, colorful lamp shade, boho lamp shade, teal lampshade, ombre lampshade, etc. Good luck!

Thank you so much Katie! I love your shop too!

Ariella- Thank you I will try switch up my tags. I would put them as knit lampshades but they are not knitted. I crocheted them. Should I put knit lampshades for a couple keywords anyway and in the description state they are crocheted?

Re: Shop Help/Critique

I think you would want to say crochet in the title but tag it as both. Those who don't knit/crochet tend not to know the difference and will be looking for that style, not necessarily the technique that made it.

Re: Shop Help/Critique

Hello!

I think I've taken a look at your lovely lampshades before! I agree with the above advice.

I think some of your trouble is just from being new and not having many sales or feedback yet. It will take a little while to build up!

I really think your lampshades would benefit from having a second hoop of wire at the bottom to even the way they hang. I hope you don't mind me saying that as it's more of a critique of what you are selling than your shop! I love your bold designs and I think a lower hoop would show them off even better!
I know you must be able to get them as I know someone who makes paper lampshades and they have a top and a bottom hoop!

I also wonder if you could do some lampshades that attach to ordinary hanging light fittings as well as standard lamps- for example I have 2 standard lamps in my house, but nether are ones that you can fit your own lampshade to, so I would only get one that could be fitted on a hanging light fitting.
