Shop Feedback

I'm looking for some feedback on my shop. I've started changing over my photos to the wood background, but haven't gotten to all of them yet. Do you think the wood detracts from the frames? I've been working on my tags/titles, adding more listings and have seen tremendous growth in sales this year. Just wanting to keep improving and seeing what others think. Thanks in advance!

Hi Paul!

I love this background:

It is much more appealing (in my opinion) than this, which doesn't allow the buyer to see the entire product well while scrolling through search results:

With your tags, keep in mind that multi-word tags (e.g. 'Jesus Ornament') are better than single-word tags (e.g. 'Jesus' and 'Ornament'). And when you have the multi-word tag you ARE still relevant for searches of the words within the phrase (just Jesus or just ornament).

Re: Shop Feedback

Great! Thank you! I like the artistic feel of the Illinois Ornament picture, but I could always put that as one of the other pictures.

What are your thoughts on the wood background with the picture frames?

Re: Shop Feedback

I agree -- I think having the mroe artistic angled photos as additional photos but maybe not the main photo is the best idea.

I like the wood background with frames when the frames are a different color, like here:

Having the black frame in between the wood background of the picture and the wood inside the frame is nice (along with the black accents in the frame). The contrast is nice there.

Your first four items (the 'featured' items) like the one below have natural wood frames, though, and I feel like the background wood + the wooden frame + the wooden pieces inside the frame kind of bleeds together and it doesn't necessarily make the item itself 'pop'.

Maybe you could photograph the natural wooden frames on a slightly different (lighter or darker or more weathered) wooden background so that it blends in with the background less. Or try brightening up the photos, as that may help!

Re: Shop Feedback

Great! Thanks so much! I appreciate your feedback. I kinda had the same feelings, but wanted to get others ideas. The background I'm using is actually one of the walls in the barn we've remodeled a part of to use as our shop.
