Shop Feedback

Hi everyone!

I opened my shop almost a month ago and still have had no sales. While I know that sales take time, I see others that sell similar items as me that just opened and already have had a few sales.

I was hoping I could get some feedback from some of you about my shop. I feel like my titles and tags are pretty good and I know my pictures could be better (that's a tough one to conquer). Of course, still trying to figure out SEO. But I guess I just don't know how to drive my target market to my shop. Unless I actively engage in promotion team building discussions (list one item, favorite 5, etc.) I get almost no views. I do Facebook and Pinterest but don't get much traffic from there. Still haven't tried Twitter or Instagram.

What do you guys think?

Thanks so much for any feedback!

Re: Shop Feedback

I'm stumped! Your signs are great, as well as your pictures, descriptions, tags, etc.

Re: Shop Feedback

You have really lovely products! I'd focus on showing them off a bit better, ie improving your photography. They're clear enough, but you could play around with the lighting and maybe props. Also, maybe have more than one image? Customers may like to see your items from different angles or just have a closer look.

Considering the nature of your items and your overall message, perhaps you could look into telling a story with your items too.

Re: Shop Feedback

Hi Alison, don't get disheartened. It can take more than a month to get that first sale. I don't know how many other shops sell similar items and as you are new you may not be showing as high in the page ranking as similar shops with more sales. Remember, it's also January and inevitably there is a lull in certain types of shops. Etsy is all about the visual and I notice some of your backgrounds are dark. Think about choosing a background that makes your items stand out . Keep your pics cohesive, to create your brand. I'm constantly redoing my pics cos as much as you can improve your SEO, it's your pics that need to put you ahead of your competitors. Etsy is a big learning curve and it doesn't happen overnight. Read everything on the Seller hand book (it's really helpful), join blogs that can promote your pieces, try some craft fairs (to see what people like).Ask your FB folllowers what kind of designs they'd like, do a giveaway. I never sit back, even when I get sales (which you will soon). Not all social media sites work well for everyone. Find one you like using and keep working at it. See Etsy as a journey, be patient and keep at it. You have great pieces !!
