Shipping...

This may be a stupid question but...

How does shipping over seas work? Does it cost more? Is it hard to do?

I've never done that, and I'm wondering if, maybe, I should offer world wide shipping.

My mother and I were talking about it a few weeks ago, and we decided to just skip it but after looking at some shops... I'm thinking that wasn't the best idea.

This is the official USPS international shipping website. They have everything you need to know.

Paypal makes it fairly easy so that the forms you need and the price is printed right in the paypal shipping label

Re: Shipping...

Well, since you sell jewelry like I do you have the benefit of shipping lighter and smaller packages. If you want to ship internationally it will cost more. I ship flat rate priority which is more pricey than first class.
Here are some links from the USPS site

Re: Shipping...

We don't use Paypal to ship internationally because you can only ship Priority & faster services internationally through Paypal and First Class International is so much less expensive. Details of what we do in the link:

Re: Shipping...

Like others have said, go to www.usps.com and you can get an approx shipping price if you know how much your package will weigh. It even will show you the prices for different ways to mail.

Good luck!

Re: Shipping...

Thanks for asking this question. i was wondering too. When I went to the USPS it says Canada & Mexico are $11.95 and everwhere else is $13.95 for priority small flat rate. But I notice alot of sellers charge less for shipping. Do you just absorb the extra?

Re: Shipping...

One thing I found out the hard way ...... it can take up to six weeks for an item to ship International. My first two sales were International and one item was needed sooner. I used USPS (you can get expedited shipping), but it will cost even more. I now include a note for International Buyers to please allow up to six weeks. Some of my items are time sensitive .... so you may be ok.

Re: Shipping...

I just added shipping prices for international, using the first class pricing. It's the snail mail, but it's the most affordable, and when you sell a $6 item, $12 is a bit much

Re: Shipping...

For jewelry, it does cost a little bit more but not much. But if just 1oz, it might be even or even less than domestic. :)

~~~Those are Priority Mail rates. International First Class goes up to 4 lbs and has been very reliable. See the link I posted above for help with easily setting your International First Class rates & printing labels with the customs form right on it.
