Shipping to Germany, stuch in customs for a month!

Have anybody had problems with shipping to Germany?
I shipped an order to Germany over a month ago. The tracking says it arrived to the country on 6 Jun and was passed to the customes on the same day. Now I see it's still stuck in the customes. Is it normal for Germany?

When I ship packages to my son in Germany, I think he gets some sort of notice and has to pick up the package. They make him open it, and as it's usually things like candy and lint rollers they let him take it, no tariff. She may need to pick it up in person, rather then have it delivered.

I just had an issue with shipping to Germany. The package sat in their post for weeks, then shipped back to me. Though I haven't received it yet. I had to resend the product to the customer. Good luck!

When a package is of higher value it will be held back by Customs and the buyer must pick it up. If they don't, the Customs will ship it back. At least that is how it works in Slovenia and Slovenia is also in EU, like Germany.

It is not normal , have you make contact with your customer , cause maybe she have receive it and the tracking system is not updated , this is happening to me all the time.Otherwise if the item arrived on 6 june by now it is coming back to you .They keep it maximum 15 days in the customs and then they send it back.

Re: Shipping to Germany, stuch in customs for a month!

I've not had any problems with shipping to Germany but I do include a full packing slip in a clear plastic pouch attached to the outside of the package. That way the German customs authorities know exactly what is in the package and it clears fairly quickly.

If you don't hear from your customer you can probably assume that the package has been delivered. Its quite possible that the German post hasn't updated the tracking information on their end.

Have you contacted the customer to see whether or not they have received it?

Thank you everyone!
crochetgal, that's one thing I should do next time, attaching an invoice outside of the package, which I didn't this time.

Mirto, actually, I was told by the customer that she hasn't still received her order. I thought the same as you first that the system wasn't just updated.

I will go to post office to ask for delay/lost package investigation on Monday.
