Shipping to Australia?

I was wondering if anyone does any overseas shipping and could help me with this.

This is only my third international order (the first two were to England) and I'm not sure how to successfully ship to Australia. What do you use to ship overseas? USPS? And how much does it cost you? (My items are very lightweight, this will probably only be about 8-9 ounces.) I looked it up on the USPS site and it was telling me this will be about $15, but that feels really expensive. England was only about $5.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Shipping to Australia?

Interesting, I have shipped to Australia many more times than England and I've found the opposite, shipping to Australia was cheaper for me and prices for shipping to England were double! You might want to check with the post office in person to see how much the rates are, that doesn't seem right to me... Make sure you look at all of the estimates I know the first one that pops up is usually for super overnight express, then priority, THEN first class parcels down at the bottom.

Re: Shipping to Australia?

I agree with Rozena. I ship to Australia every day nearly and that seems way to high for a first class parcel.

Re: Shipping to Australia?

Me too! I ship to Australia and have found it reasonable, esp lightweight items.
I just ship it USPO, first class. Make sure your packing is light, try and use envelopes.
Good luck!

Re: Shipping to Australia?

I've found Australia to be the same as anywhere else in the world other than Canada and the US. I ship from Canada and use bubble envelopes approx 7 x 10 inches. Certainly the size of the package drastically affects the price here more than the weight

Re: Shipping to Australia?

Australia is a little more expensive than shipping to England. It costs me about $7-8 to ship to UK, but it was about $10 to ship to Australia

I ship First Class International.

Thank you all so much for your help! I think I can definitely get the price down by using the smallest packaging possible :)

Re: Shipping to Australia?

I have shipped to Australia a handful of times and for an 11x14 rigid envelope it costs about 10 bucks, that is the cheapest USPS could ship. Obviously photography is very lightweight, so it will depend on the weight of your items.

Re: Shipping to Australia?

I shipped to Australia last week via USPS First Class (7-10 day delivery). The package was in a 6x10 bubble mailer and was under 3oz. The total turned out to be $4.56 or so. Also if you search around the international shipping area on USPS.com there is a excel spreadsheet that give you all the delivery zones and approx how much it will cost to ship by weight. Hope that helped. :)

Re: Shipping to Australia?

This is for a 9 oz package to Australia - click on the link under the graph for First Class International mailing.

Re: Shipping to Australia?

I shipped a bracelet to Australia for about $1.90 one time. Soap is a tad heavier (Okay, a LOT heavier) to ship, but even that isn't as bad as you might think, unless someone orders a big box.
