Shipping costs to an APO box?

Hi everyone!

I have a friend that moved to Germany with her military husband just recently. She would like to order some bandannas from me and have them shipped to her APO box in Germany. I want to make sure I don't overcharge her for shipping but I don't know how much to estimate.

Should I estimate the shipping to Germany or is an APO box different?

The shipping rates will be U.S. domestic rates but you'll need to fill out a customs form.

I had a sale that was shipped to an APO box and it charged international rates. When I tried to print the shipping label it still charged international rates. So I ended up hand writing it and taking it to the post office to get the correct rate. Then I refunded the customer the difference.
I would say to charge international rate and refund the difference when you see what the true cost will be.

An APO is an Army Post Office. It will have a US address and from there the mail will go via Military mail to where ever your friend is stationed.

The package will need a customs form but the postage required on the package will be for US domestic postage only.

Second that. I live in Germany with my military husband and you should only be charged a US domestic rate to ship to APO. Just do it once through the US post office and you'll find it's very easy.
