Shipping boxes

Where does everyone get their shipping boxes? Is there a good place to order boxes to ship jewelry and smaller items that aren't crazy expensive???

Re: Shipping boxes

Walmart has boxes and they are very inexpensive ... I don't know what their smallest size is ... but worth checking it out.

Re: Shipping boxes

if it's a small order, I use padded envelopes and wrap items in bubble wrap. Larger orders I use small boxes 4x4x6, I get from a local UPS shop.

Re: Shipping boxes

I also use the padded envelopes from walmart. If you use the boxes, do you increase prices to include the cost?

Re: Shipping boxes

I do what ElnaDesigns does--rigid jewelery boxes in a bubble mailer (we use size 000 mailers for most small items, our boxes are a little smaller than Elna's). I shop around for good prices each time I buy so I often get the boxes & bubble mailers from different places than I got them last time.

Free boxes from USPS are good if you are shipping Priority Mail, but for anything under 13 oz we ship First Class and even when adding in the cost of the boxes/mailers, it's still $2 to $3 cheaper than using the free USPS boxes & going with Priority Mail.

Re: Shipping boxes

Aida, I agree with JessicaLam's recommendation of ULINE. I've been very pleased with the this company. If you'd like, sign up for their mailing list to get one of their catalogs. The prices are reasonable. They have every size shape box ; anything shipping related its there. Bubble wrap is very economical. For shops that sell many of one item its easier as you know what size boxes to order in advance. I will not use old shoe boxes or newspaper to wrap or ship my items, even though I sell mostly vintage! I think it is tacky and unprofessional. It is your shop's image. Discounts are offered for buying in bulk too. I recently ordered from the sale catalog and the prices were excellent. Delivered in 48 hrs. This company sells to businesses, both large and small. Hope this helps. Shipping and packaging costs can be a killer!

If you are looking to buy packaging and shipping supplies in bulk, I highly recommend Nashville Wraps - I've been using them for over 20 years now, and their selection is great, there is a low minimum order, their prices are good and their shipping is fast.

Re: Shipping boxes

USPS Priority Boxes are free, and you can order them online to have them delivered to your house. Also if you work at an business or have friends/relatives that do, ask them to save boxes from items that come in, and reuse them.

I've ordered boxes from Uline.com at a reasonable price. Local businesses usually charge a lot for new cardboard boxes.
