Ship to An Unconfirmed Address?

I had a buyer buy an item Sunday morning, with an unconfirmed Paypal address.
I have emailed her and sent an etsy message asking her to confirm it, no reply.

This has happened before with other buyers but I get a quick response....

Should I ship or wait a little longer for her reply? I know I'll wait till Wed. morning for sure, and that is still a good time frame.

I've had a few on PayPal that were unconfirmed. So far (knock on wood) I've had no problems.
Often it's right, but for some reason PayPal hasn't gotten their records up to date... just moved or something like that.

I think you should wait for her reply ! If you send it to a unconfirmed address and the item did not reach your customer you will have alot of issues. So my advice is to wait. Better be safe than sorry

Like ArtistiKat said, I've had unconfirmed addresses on paypal for etsy and ebay, and thankfully no problems yet! Sometimes I think customers just don't use paypal enough and don't feel a need to confirm their address.

Perhaps wait a day or two more, and then ship it?

Had this happen to me. Customer confirmed with a reply email and I shipped. It got there. Heard this happened to a fellow etsy friend, she shipped AFTER the customer confirmed the address, and the package ended up being returned. I don't get it. Just make sure your policies on shipping are in place. If you get merchandise returned, you refund the price but NOT the shipping.

I think about 25% of the addresses I shipped to were unconfirmed in PayPal, but I didn't even pay attention to that. I only check that the address is the same in both Etsy and PayPal, cos I don't think a person would type their address wrong twice.
So far I also didn't have any problems with any of them.

Indeed many people don't use PayPayl a lot and didn't even see the option or need to confirm. I used to have an unconfirmed address myself, while buying stuff.

I had a similar situation. I sent a convo but no reply. As it was going overseas I checked the address on google, it existed so I sent it. I did pay extra to have it tracked though.
I also have a note in my policies which states that packages will be sent to the Paypal addie.

I had an unconfirmed address on paypal for the longest time. I just never bothered with confirming it. There is probably a lot of people like me who buy things.

I ask customers whether their address is correct only when Paypal suggest different city. It happens when the city change their names etc. When it happened to me, Paypal didn't let me print the label unless I changed the city.

Also, even if you add a credit card to Paypal, it could say "unconfirmed address" when the billing address and the shipping address don't match. I had "unconfirmed address" since I used my permanent address as a billing address but wanted the item shipped to where I lived.

I get unconfirmed PayPal addresses all the time. If the PayPal address matches the Etsy one, I don't worry about it. Good luck!

I've shipped to unconfirmed addresses on several occasions and I've never had a problem. Every time I get an order though, I check to make sure the shipping info on the Etsy invoice matches that of on the PayPal receipt. If they match I ship, if they don't, I contact the buyer and I won't ship until I get a reply.

If Etsy and PayPal addresses are the same I ship. If I recall there is a verification procedure that a PayPal user can skip at the time they established their account. It may not be important to them to verify If they only buy.

I have had that happen once. I e-mailed the bride and she said she inadvertantly switched the numbers in her new address. But, I would wait until you hear back from her.

On another note, I wrote to a customer about something and she wasn't allowed to write back through Etsy. She contacted me on twitter and Facebook. So, I would write her one more time. Can you mapquest the address? Or find her someplace other than Etsy?

I bought something a little while ago and the seller asked me to confirm my address, as it was unconfirmed on PayPal according to her. I got a little surprised because on my PayPal it says everything is verified and as far as I'm concerned I did this already a couple of years ago. I looked through all my settings and everything on my PayPal account after this, but it seems at least to me everything is confirmed. No problem of course with her asking - better for her to be sure - but has anyone bumped into the same ever?

Otherwise, I guess it's like many here say: the reason people - especially buyers - are having unconfirmed addresses is because they never bothered to confirm it. I would trust it as long as it's the same as on Etsy.

I shipped to an unconfirmed address (I didn't even check) and months later it turns out that the charge was disputed (I believe it was a stolen credit card that was used)
I contacted the buyer who purchase the item via Etsy and email with no response. She deleted her Etsy profile and I got stuck with the charge plus $25 fee from the credit card and PayPal is not able to help since it was an unconfirmed address...sigh.

Long story short-I make sure address are confirmed now.
