Setting your New Year Goals?

I started listing items in September, and now that I'm finally settling into this whole Etsy shop ownership role I'm thinking about what my goals are for 2013. My shop is slowly beginning to show some success, but I have oh so very far to go!

What are you considering as you set your goals for next year?

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

6 full pages of jewelry in my shop. I would also like to try one craft fair. Continue to provide the best customer service. Make that piece of jewelry that sells like hotcakes! I have many goals and I am happy with my progress so far.

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

I've got some lofty goals, but hey, if I don't dream I'll never get to where I want to be right?

I've broken it down into 6 month increments (soon I'll be breaking it down even further, but this is just a start). I don't have a huge amount of goals, but this gives me something to work towards :)

From Jan 1 - July 1st:
- create 3 new products
- bring in $50 each month
- create a large inventory stockpile

From July1 - December 31:
- create 3 more new products
- bring in $100 each month (my events start in July)
- register my business name

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

My new year's goal is to reach 200 items. I'm also working on a new range of items that I'm very excited about. I want to do more promotional work and look into different ways of marketing.
I want to hire a model to represent my new range and take amazing pictures to include in a lookbook.
So much to do. I love making jewels!♥

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

I'm working on creating some new items. I think having 100 items in my shop is not obtainable considering what I make, but I could do 50?

I also want to have enough stuff made so I can do holiday craft fairs next year.

I think I would be happy with 1-2 sales a week. They picked up in October so I hope it doesn't go down again after the holiday.

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

I want to list more items and reach at least 3 sales per month. Then I'll be happy! So far no sales, but I just opened up.

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

I'm aiming to:

Have at least 100 items in my shop by summer.

Launch my own website (working on that one right now!)

Attend my first craft show

Double my monthly sales by the end of 2013

So... I better get cracking!

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

My goal for next year is to be a vendor at three fiber festivals at the least and to continue to grow my online presence. I am also hoping to expand into teaching locally as well as expanding my products into my LYS. Great topic.

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

1: Add new items
2: Streamline current listings
3. Do away with items that aren't popular
4. Have more items professionally photographed
5. Take a two week break.

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

So helpful to read these and think about the possibilities! I'm a planful person generally, but being new to Etsy makes the goal setting a little more challenging!

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

1) Get to 150 items
2) Phase out certain categories.
3) Participate in Renegade SF, and some of the major fairs in my area.
4) As far as sales goals. I am hoping to sell 365 items (the amount that equals to a sale a day).

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

-build up some new inventory (it all sold out in a couple of weeks - yay!)
-add new socks/slippers (my shop is called Cozy Toes, but most of my sales have been mittens, lol)
-add holiday specific items for valentines, st. patricks, fourth of july, halloween, thanksgiving
-expand my selection of jewelry

I don' t like to make sale number/dollar amount goals because it gets frustrating fast. I figure if I achieve the things that I am in total control helps my hopes for high sales become a reality. Good luck everyone!

Re: Setting your New Year Goals?

It's really hard to get up to 100 something items for my niche, but I would like to reach 50 items at least! Before new year!

I will work full time after January, if I have promising sales. I did my first two sales in the fourth day. That could be a success?
