Setting prices for International Shipping

I would like to provide International sales for my shop but I am slightly overwhelmed at the challenge of setting the shipping prices. I would like to mail Priority rather than First Class, but the rates are steep. Do I have to set a price for all countries or continents? Egads! Please give me your thoughts on the best approach to expand my sells horizon. Thanks.

Re: Setting prices for International Shipping

With your items being larger... I would pack one, take it to your local PO and have them give your international prices based on what size and weight one would actually be.
I have found the PO to be helpful in giving guidance in the past.
As far as setting the prices, you can do it as you wish. I have one set for Canada (since they are closer and cheaper) and then one for pretty much everywhere else since it seems the prices are similar for my types of items (smaller) and I plan to use First class.
Good luck!

Re: Setting prices for International Shipping

I use Canada, Mexico, Australia, the EU and then Everywhere Else (I think that's all) - I ship first class items under 13 oz so it's not too steep. I've never had anyone want to upgrade to priority intl. which makes sense as that would be almost as much as the cost of some of my items-

Once you figure out the cost for certain weights of items you can set up profiles based on weight- esp. if your items vary quite a bit in size/weight...

I think there is an online shipping calculator. The Post Office website here in the UK is quite helpful.

Re: Setting prices for International Shipping

I opened a Click-n-ship acct with U.S. Post Office, and I ship from my studio.

My parcels are certainly smaller than yours. Go to USPS.com and print out their rate charts. Priority Flat Rate is cheapest, and they have large boxes. for International, you can ship first class, but there are size restrictions and you can't get insurance for 1st Class parcel. Priority International flat Rate can be insured.
I ship to Canada, the EU, and Israel, Australia, and New Zealand.

Download customer service manual in pdf.

Good luck!
