Searching for an item by listing number?

Hello,

I joined Etsy almost 6 months ago, and my next sale will be number 70.

I do quite a bit of custom jewelry work for people on Etsy. Once my buyer and I figure out what I am making for them, I will post a listing in my shop for them to purchase. Once purchased and paid for, I get it made and sent; usually within 2 days.

I have been directing them to look for the most recent listing, or one of the most recent listings in my shop. But each listing has a unique listing number; for example Listing # 61124049.

Is there a way in Etsy to search for a listing by that number? I have tried in the search bar at the tip of the page, looking under "All Items", but the result is:

We didn't find anything for Listing # 61124049.

So I suspect items can not be found by listing number, but it seems like this should be possible. Does anyone know how?

Hi Paul-

You can do a "Reserved Order" for your customers! Here is an example:
http://www.etsy.com/transaction/45450356

After you have finished the item, you can list it as "Reserved Order". Then when you convo your customer to tell them it is ready include the link of your "Reserved Order" and they are all set to purchase it!

There are many good examples of "Reserved Orders" out there, but this will get you started!
