Same Tags and Titles? Or not?

I am having a hard time deciding if I should do the same tags and titles for my shop. The coasters that I sell is the main thing I am referring to. I have seen people do the exact same ones for all the similar items, is this a good idea or not? While your browsing check out and feel free to give me any feedback to improve.

That's a very good question! We've heard arguments for both! Hopefully someone out there knows for sure???

If you want to be found, I think you have to vary the tags to increase the chances of that happening. The greater your tag footprint, the more likely people are to run across you!

Try to think of ways you would search for the items that you sell - think decor for example. People may be wanting to colour match. I make a lot of treasuries and it surprises me how many people neglect to include colour in their tags.

Monitor your shop stats for the keywords that people use to find your shop and if you see a pattern, then choose some of those words to tag all your listings. [For me, it's carved bone.] But then mix it up as much as possible. Throw in shape once in a while. Throw in your own shop name once in a while.

I use different tiles but I try to make them relevant. I just try to think of different words and combos people might search for.

I mix up my titles and tags and then check my stats and if I find a title and the matching tags are working and getting the better views than I use that particular set of Title/tags.

I have been doing some work on them, but it still seems pretty slow in my shop. I just hit 30 sales and am happy about those, but would love to have more traffic. Today for example was only 20 views. Does this seem minimal to anyone else?

Oh gosh, I'm lucky if I get 20 views a day! :) It looks like we opened our shops just a couple of months apart from each other (you have some very lovely items by the way). I too struggle with increasing traffic, but I find that exposure can be very helpful. Joining teams, networking, making treasuries, promoting your items/store where possible and - as a few others have said - switching up your tags and titles depending on the stats in your store and what's trending that day/week/month has helped me to some degree too. Ashley, why not use "trivet" or whatever the current/hip word is for a place to set a hot pan or serving dish?

I'd definitely be using different words in my titles for SEO reasons.

20 views is incredibly low, or would be for me anyway. The last couple of days I've had more than 100 views per day. Before Christmas, it was 200 to 300 views per day. Having said that, I often read where some sellers have 500+ views per day ... and wonder how they do it?!

Do you renew items or add items every day or two? Do you use Circles?

I would switch things up and watch and see what works. I know your didn't ask me, but I would probably offer your coasters in sets of 4.

I used to get tons of views from teams and such, but those views did not really equal sales.
