I've noticed...when I get one sale I'm a LOT more likely to get several others on the same day.
be like 3 days of nothing and bam 4 sales in an hour and half. 0o

not really complaining...just wondering why it seems to go that way.

It's like that for me a lot, but it's been since Feb. 26 for my last one! I'm starting to get a little worried.

It goes that way everywhere :) I used to work in a café and we'd be like that *all the time* - absolutely slammed for an hour and then dead the rest of the day. One totally hectic day and then two days of nothing. Not surprised to hear Etsy sales are like that too!

huh, so interesting. I have totally experienced the sales in a row phenomenon myself. I'm sure there is some business principle or economic theory that pertains...Perhaps an MBA or student of Economics can help us name what we all seem to experience...

I have this as well. It could be that in general your views are up because of some trend or treasury, etc. If you're renewing the first item after it sells, it could just be that you brought your item up in the search results...but I find that activity breeds activity and I have cycles of sales as well.

Some of it may have to do with renewing those sold items. That boosts you back up and helpsnyour relevancy.

The same thing happens to me, all the time! I don't think I've ever just sold one thing at a time. This weekend I sold 4 items. I also used to work in a restaurant and thats the way it was there too.

I've had this happen too but I only make one of anything so I can't renew. I think it has to do with the cycles of payday, bills due, etc. and how active you are. If your shop is unchanging people don't look but if you're always adding new listings and shopping other shops people notice you.

Here too.. I had a long row of sales and slam... still good views, my search views even went up but no sales

I like the comparison that Sonja made with our shops here on Etsy and other retail environments. It's so true! Certain days of the week, times of the day, or times of the year are totally dead in brick and mortar retail. Even though we're lucky to have an online platform to reach multiple time zones and all over the world, I can understand why there would still be dead times here on Etsy. They're never easy on the seller's psyche, though!
