SEO and other questions

I've only had my shop open for a year, but I haven't been getting too many sales so I've been trying to update lots of things in my shop and I've come up with a few questions that I hope will help improve my sales.

One, is whether specifying a gender on a product actually does anything? I've never had anyone get to any of my listings that have a gender specified by searching for that, so I'm not sure if maybe Etsy tailors search results based on the buyers profile? I would rather leave everything gender neutral to reach the widest number of customers, but maybe I am wrong and it helps to list a gender?

I also had the thought that having all my prices listed in even USD amounts would look better than like "12.95" or other amounts just under the next dollar, I recently changed all my prices to even numbers so I don't know for sure if it made a difference yet, but I wanted to see what you all think about that.

And any other tips for reaching the most number of buyers would be greatly appreciated.

I've had my shop since 2009, it's been a on off gig because of the frustration of getting sales. I would really appreciate any feedback on my shop on how it looks for someone coming into it and seeing it. What do you think first opinion, prices ok, how are my photos? Also, how do I get people to favorite me?

Love you shop I love the whole vintage thing! The only thing that stood out to me was that your photos were dark. I think its the dark background maybe a lighter background so that these lovely items stand out. Also have you tried ETSY rank? Its free and they will critique your shop and you can see where each listing is another words its a reportcard on your shop.

lOVELY SHOP! The onlything I would do differently is add more stuff the more the better. about favorites are you in any teams? are you in the right ones? YOU WANT TO BE IN THE BUSY ONES.I have noticed the more envolved i am with my team the more views,and hearts I get. i have went from 1 heart a day to 500 ++ just by staying active with teams .
