Resources on starting a business

Hello everyone!
I am curious if anyone knows of some FREE resources online about setting up a business.

Someone posted a very informational post here from her experience of working with a business coach, a few of the pointers were setting up a separate account, etc., and paying yourself, (boy that would be awesome).....

I just have been winging it so far, and my new year resolution is to get THIS BUSINESS
up and running and ORGANIZED!

ittybiz, seth godin, and copybogger are three great websites you may want to follow once you get the basics in order. They won't talk about things like setting up a business account, but they'll talk a lot about marketing, writing about your products, a lot of strategic stuff.

just remembered~ if you want "set up" advice, two books you might want to check out are Craft Inc. by Mateo Ilasco, and The Boss of You by Bacon & Mears. They both go step by step through the set up process. Craft Inc. is specifically related to craft businesses, and The Boss of You is a more advanced but general book about setting up a woman-owned business.

Check your state's Small Business Administration.

They have a lot of information on how to get registered as a business, forms, etc. I registered my LLC online and it was super easy and fast. I saved money by not going through a third party.

Ditto, http://www.sba.gov/ is the best resource there is.

I learned a lot from the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Collaborative. Mostly, I learned I don't want to open my own business! You might find something similar in your area.
