Refunds from Etsy.... Help! FYI about renewing listings

So I thought I had a good idea of being proactive and decided I would renew my all of my listings until after the new year so I would not have to worry about. Assuming Etsy and all it's greatness would extend all the expiration dates 4 months from when the are currently set to expire. NO! It renewed all my listing effective today and set to expire January 2nd. Some of them should have been set out to April and June. I feel at the very least there could have been some kind of warning. Who do I contact about this? and how do I reverse this if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Refunds from Etsy.... Help! FYI about renewing listings

Hi Jackie,

I'm not sure who to contact about this, but sellers sometimes deliberately renew their listing before they expire.

This is because newly listed products appear on the front page of Etsy in the 'Recently listed items' section.

So re-listing some of your items frequently is almost like an advertisement for your products - all visitors to Etsy's home page will see them.

Hope this makes sense :)

Re: Refunds from Etsy.... Help! FYI about renewing listings

If you read the article
https://www.etsy.com/help/article/198?ref=help_search_result
it will tell you all about renewing.

Basically when you renew an item its listing date becomes the date that it was renewed and it will then expire four months from that date.

You are expected to have read and understood the Terms of Use
https://www.etsy.com/help/article/479
when you created your account.

When you renew a listing it does state that

When you renew a listing a yellow box pops up that says

""This will cost a non-refundable fee of $0.20 USD. By clicking “Renew” you agree to pay this fee.
The listed on date will reset to today, and the expiration date will be four months from today.""

which should be sufficient notice.

I always skim past that part and hit renew, but I guess I'll just have to live with this one.

Sahiba, Thank you yes that makes perfect sense, I did not know that and my views for today certainly reflect that so I guess that's good.
