Refreshing your shop

I have just read how an Etsy member said her sales dwindled when she stopped refreshing her shop. Just how does one refresh ones shop constantly other than putting up new items, which is difficult if there is little time for new creations,

Renew items. Instead of waiting for your items to run out their clock renew a couple items every day or week. I can't prove it helps with sales, but it seems to work for me.

I haven't experienced a slowdown of sales in my shop and I attribute that to "working my shop". By that I mean moving words around in my titles or changing tags or rearranging items in my shop (which I really need to do again). I like to watch my stats to see what my customers are putting in search and look at what items it took them to. Then I adjust my titles to get more of my items found with those word searches. Of course, listing and renewing items is another good way and only costs 20 cents.

Personally I don't renew for renewal's sake. And once I find a title for an item that is bringing in the customers, I leave it alone.

I can't see any point in renewing before an item is about to expire simply because outside searches don't care when an item was listed. If a person is looking for that item, they will find it regardless of its renewal (or listing) date.

I've found that the best way to get sales is to be constantly marketing to your target customer.

Reading this i have read a lot of posts and people swear by renewing your listings early, the question is why? Yes i hear that it gets it higher in the search listings but does it really?
