Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hey guys,
I'm seeing everywhere this topics of the kind "Post 1 fav 5", but I think they give a bit "empty" traffic. So I decided that will be much more useful if we have a topic that we comment each other's weak sides.
Rules:
1. First one (me) comment with the shop link.
2. Every other rate the previous shop from 1 to 10 AND say why they rate it with that. What they like and what they don't like + tips how the shop could be improved.
3. The user posts his'/her's shop as well.
NB! If the previous user has forgotten to post their shop URL, rate the last shop that is posted. Everyone could participate as many times as he/she wants.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hello Maya,

Thank you for the great idea with getting feedback about weak sides of the shop. It will help us perform better!

As for your shop, you sell great useful products, but there are some areas for improvement
1. Number of products on sale. I was reading Etsy searching engine more effective with the shops with average number of products about 180. Both our shop has a window for improvement in this field)) And I start to fill in my shop actively after some period on hold.
2. The first product might became more attractive for customers if it would be colorful.
3. The cover photo of the shop could be different from brand photo. Might be some desk or working place with your planner would better represents products of your shop.
I wish you great success with your shop and waiting for comments about my shop from other participant with impatience)))

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hello Lana, I have very few criticisms for your store. She is very beautiful. I love the long descriptions. The order by products. And I really like the idea of selling digital photography. Congratulations for your store.
What I do not like about your store are the main photos:
You see the picture on the ground. I would like more a painting on the wall, as seen in other photos. More like a museum, especially for you who sell art. It is not attractive to see the picture on the ground, it loses value. I want to imagine that image in my living room or my office.
I only have that refusal. Everything else I love <3
Sorry for my English translated by google. :-(

Hello Oscar!
Thank you very much for your kind review! I appreciate a lot your time spent to have a look to my shop and to write all suggestions. I will definitely take them into considerations
My congratulations with a great shop you have. I love these cute bracelets.
The products you sell are very beautiful with reasonable pricing. I have only one comment about background of your photos)) As you have very colorful products they would look better on even and neutral color background. It will also make all the shop less "noisy" visually and will put attention of your buyers directly to the product.
I wish you a lot of success on Etsy!

Hello again Lana ;-) Thank you very much for visiting my store and for your suggestion! It's true, there are some photos that the bottom bothers. I will look at it and modify the background to make it less annoying. I also wish you good luck with your business ;-)

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Would someone be willing to rate my shop? I'm excited to hear about ways I might improve visibility. Please let me know if, in your experience, I could benefit from any changes, additions or removals of words and/or content. Marketing ideas etc. Thanks in advance! I welcome all feedback. ~Michele

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi Michele,
Your shop is aesthetically pleasing for me and I like your descriptions.
What I think you may improve is to post pictures with the real products for all or most of the colors which you offer. It will make it easier for customers and is SEO-friendly (i think).

Lana, thanks for your opinion. I'm working on other products too and I will really think about your offer for the cover photo. :)

Hi Lana,
Very nice photographs. I think your shop is very professional and looks nice.

I would like to see more of your personality in the shop. I would suggest filling out the about section!

Also make sure all of your tags are different.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi Lana,
I don't have much to say about your shop. I kind of feel like at least the profile picture is better to show your brand, but it's ok like that too. The other thing is your titles. They look so busy and noisy, I don't like that.

Hi Oscar. I love your colorful bracelets. Although I'm new on ETSY I will dare to give you my opinion about your shop. The photos are great but I admit that the background is a little bit noisy. I like very much the About section photos. The only thing I would suggest is that you have to add more listings.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi Maya,
I think you're off to a great start, but that theres also a lot you can work on.
First, work on getting may more listings. The more listings you have, the more likely you are to be found.
Second, I think you're underselling yourself. If I'm only willing to pay $1.50 for a planner, I am most likely going to download something free online and not pay for anything at all. Raising your prices lets customers know the value that they are paying for. Instead of keeping your prices so low in hopes of sales try raising them and letting customers know what is special, and unique about your product. Its also helpful to translate these unique qualities into searchable terms that customers may be looking for!
Third, make your titles longer, and fill them with phrases that potential customers will search. Same with your tags, take out the colors and abstract phrases and really dig for terms that will lead to sales. Tags and titles are so important!
Add some pictures to your about page so customers can get a sense of who you are! People shop on etsy for a reason! They want to know about you!
Lastly, Make your descriptions more clear and concise. I want to know the facts, quickly and in a way that shows professionalism and personality.
Keep working on all of these things! It takes time to make sales and be successful here.. but the more you work on it, the more you will learn and the more successful you will be!!! Good luck!!

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Anna,
Such cute, and fun pictures. I really get a sense of your personality through them!
Your doing a lot of things so right!
I would focus on your titles and tags. They're good.. but could be so much better. Check out the site marmelead.com if your struggling with what a good tag or title phrase might be (I got a subscription there for only a couple months but it helped me a lot). The best way to think of your titles and tags is in terms of search. What does your potential customer type into the search box. Those should be your title and tags. Also make sure the first three words of your title describes your item. For examples "Handmade Lavender "Owl" doesn't tell me as much as Lavender Owl Sachet.
I would also consider simplifying your Item categories to 3-5. Its a little overwhelming the number you currently have.
Good luck with your lovely shop!!

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi,
I think you need to make better photos. Go on youtube or pinterest, there are many free photography tutorials. Take some time and learn how to present your products in the best way possible.
Second thing is to make a cover picture.
Good luck.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi Maya,
I like your cover photo. I would suggest more photos. Also I would suggest the to put the actual image of your first item as the first picture that is seen. Then you can add the photo with the refrigerator. I didn't know what I was suppose to be looking at. Your prices are reasonable.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi, April--nice work!!

Unfortunately, you have some one-star reviews to which you did not respond. Be sure you respond to bad reviews! It sounds like you have corrected the problems these buyers complained about.

Prices are fine. You could use more photos for each listing.

Titles need to longer and descriptions need work. I looked at your Betty Boop pillow and did not find fiber content, size, or care instructions. Is the pillow reversible (print fabric on both sides?) or is one side plain?

I also noticed you have a pillow listed under your cutting board category.

You over 80 sales, so customers have found you and liked your work!

Hi Maya,
Love your Monkey, Very good branding,
I am an organizing freak. I keep 3 planners, and I am a constantly adding stickers, photos, and notes.

You have a great product but not a lot of options. Your prices are great. Keep up the hard work. You are on the right track.

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Hi Victoria,
The jewelry category is a competitive place to be, so you gotta on your best game to standout in the search. Try to think of unique search terms to include in your titles and tags as well!
First of all I think your prices are very low. To me low prices = low quality. I would suggest adding at least doubling all of your prices, some could be tripled.
I think your pictures show the item well, but I think they could be greatly improved. I find most of the backgrounds very distracting from the items. The best advice I can give is to type in a phrase into etsy search (that you may use to search an item of yours) and see what items stick out to you. Use this to help direct improving your picture in the future.
I would also suggest filling out your about section more. With pictures and a longer description.
Good luck to you!

Re: Rate the previous shop + constructive criticism

Object Apparel, I think you have a really stunning shop! I could thing for 2 things only that might be better:
1) On the about page I would like to see who actually is behind the shop. Tell customers your story, how the idea was born, why you decide to make that kind of products, tell a little about the team maybe.
2) Don't you have social media pages? Nowadays, many people would prefer to follow your newest products around the social media than on your website or Etsy shop.
Have a nice day! :)

April Jackson, I actually was thinking about the same thing for my photos lately (about putting the actual images first)! :)

Victoria, the monkey actually has a connection with my shop name story (it's not an EPIC story, but I decided to use it while I was thinking about my branding). I know the problem of a lack of options, but I need to send my portfolio to a couple of places in a week and I'm soooo busy, but I have a list of really cool (in my opinion) products for meal planning, travel (kind of) planner and so on that I'm going to make as soon as possible. Thanks for your comment! :)
