Questions for Photographers!

For those of you who sell photography on Etsy:

1. Do you print your own photos or do you have them sent off to a printers?
2. What sort of paper do they get printed on?
3. Do you get them printed as people buy them or do you keep a stock?
4. How do you determine your pricing and what sizes you offer?

Re: Questions for Photographers!

- i send my photos / negatives to a professional printer

- i get my photos printed on high quality professional paper (Fujicolor Premium Archyval paper) in a mat finish because they look really lovely that way

- i might have a photo in stock as i always get them printed first to make sure the quality is excellent
but usually, i have them printed once payment has been made, depending on which day i receive the order, it could take 1 to 3 working days before i can send the photo to a client

- the price of my photos corresponds to an average of what you may find on Etsy, I have opened my boutique recently so i did not feel i could put my prices too high
still, working with film cameras is much more expensive than using digital cameras (you have to purchase the film, pay for the development, the scanning, the printing, i have to travel across town twice to the printer as i bring my negatives in person (i.e. i do not send a file to the printer by mail in that case) .... which makes a film photography much more expensive ! so knowing all this, i believe that my prints are affordable.

- i offer my photographies in limited editions and in diverse standard sizes : 4 x 4, 4 x 6, 5 x 5, 5 x 7 and 8 x 8, 8 x 12 - I welcome special orders so a different size could be requested

Voilà, i hope i have answered your questions, if you need further information, please let me know :)

Re: Questions for Photographers!

Great, thanks lumieredumatin. That's really helpful! Appreciate you taking the time to type all that up for me :) You have beautiful work in your shop. I love film cameras. The photo of raindrops and leaves just went into my faves.
