Question - unconfirmed paypal address

Hi everybody,

I recently shipped an order & after a week or so, the package got returned. On the package, it says: Insufficient address (for receiver. It is an US address). I went to paypal & saw that the buyer's paypal address is unconfirmed. So I sent a message to her on Etsy, and I also sent an email to her paypal email address. It has been 2 weeks but no reply from her. I got very concerned - I should have checked her paypal address in the first place. Just wonder if anybody ever encountered this problem before? What did you do?

I check to make certain the paypal address matches the etsy address.

Does it match the address she uses on Etsy? If she hasn't responded after two weeks I'd cancel the order and issue her a refund with an explanation why. That's all you can do at this point.

I had this recently, where the package got returned for the same reason. I checked both the Etsy and Paypal address, and they were the same, and contacted the lady. She replied and asked me to resend the package. Same thing again, it got returned. Turned out, the lady had clicked on the wrong address on Etsy, and gave her OLD address... So maybe your customer gave an old address by accident?

' Insufficient address' and 'unconfirmed address' are two different things.

An 'unconfirmed address' simply means that the person has not linked their paypal account to a bank account so Paypal cannot confirm that the address matches an existing bank account.

An 'insufficient address' means that there isn't enough information for the post office to deliver the package. It could be that there is an apartment number missing or a case of it needing a direction on a street.

Such as

123 Grand Ave West
Any City, State
zip

Vs

123 Grand Ave East
Any City, State
zip
If the 'east' or 'west' is left off the address and both addresses are within the same zip code, there isn't enough information for the postal carrier to accurately determine where the package should be delivered.

The lady replied me yesterday saying that she updated her paypal address now. I will check her updated address first before I resend her package.
