Question on P.O. Box for shipping

When I print shipping labels, I mostly adopted the USPS suggested address because I had experience that if I don't use the suggested address, the mails sometimes get delayed.

I was trying to print a label tonight which was supposed to sent to a PO Box. USPS suggested to use Po Box instead of P.O. Box. Does anyone know if I should use Po Box or P.O. Box?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Question on P.O. Box for shipping

I've mailed several packages to PO Boxes, and have always hand written them as "PO Box #1234" or whatever it happens to be. I have never had an issue with delivery to them... hope this helps!

We haven't had problems using either. My Dad has had a Po box for so long that he no longer receives mail at his physical address!

Re: Question on P.O. Box for shipping

Hi Fishcouple,
What I've noticed with USPS is that they have eliminated the punctuation. For instance, instead of St. Dr. or Ave. they suggest St Dr Ave and the same with PO Box. Either way, it will get there with or without the periods. I also noticed that even if the customer spells their name without using capitals, it doesn't matter because everything on the label is now capitalized, so I don't have to go in and manually capitalize their first and last name anymore.

Thank you all! ... as always! :)

I guess I will just use the wired looking "Po Box" as suggested. :)

Have a great day!

That's part of USPS' address standardization. You can read all about that here:

When it comes to USPS best results are obtained by doing things their way.
