Quality Issue

So I recently ordered more glass cabs from my wholesale supplier. I've never had problems with them before. However, this time when I they arrived over 3/4 of them had small scratches and or nicks. I contacted them and they refunded me the money for the damaged ones, it was all very pleasant so that's not an issue. But I had to use the money they refunded me for TH and Etsy fees so I can't order more right now and my goal was to have 150 listings before the end of the month. My question is should I use the ones that have minor defects and just discount them and explain why in the notes? I don't want to toss them, I also don't feel right selling them.. They aren't terribly noticeable but I'm a perfectionist and I don't want to sell anything that's not up to my standards. I looked up ways to get scuffs and scratches out of them and came up empty-handed.. What should I do? My b/f suggested I scuff them up a little more and use vintage-y pictures and sell them as faux antique. I really don't know what to do with them.. help please??

Re: Quality Issue

I wonder if brushing a coat of resin on them would "fill in" the scratches & nicks?

Re: Quality Issue

I would still use the ones that have minor defects and make a different style of jewelry piece with it...don't present them as low quality but, rather explain how you would explain if you had to use rough diamonds rather than polished diamonds...

Re: Quality Issue

^^exactly. Just work with it! Make "distressed" pieces with them! I think that would be really cool. Don't talk about it negatively at all- just make it a selling point.

Re: Quality Issue

Thanks! I'll try the resin thing and if that doesn't work I'll continue with the "distressed" thing. That's the word I was looking for, Thanks Jennifer! =)

Re: Quality Issue

Is it fuseable glass? Maybe you can resell them as a supply to someone that fuses glass pendants.

Re: Quality Issue

I'm not sure.. How do I figure out if it's fuseable glass?
