I need a little advice, what are the best ways you guys have found to promote your shop?

For me, posting every new listing on Twitter has gotten me the quickest views...I've tried the blog...I am kind of struggling with having things to blog about, because I don't want it to be just about my shop products. I do Wanelo, when I can remember it, too.

SEO!
Make buyers that would be interested in your products actually FIND them.

Facebook! New to Twitter, but that seems good too. Join teams and be active on them... Wanelo, Pinterest, StumbleUpon, and SEO! Lots more options are out there besides just these, too. Oh and let's not forget - real life interactions! I always have my biz cards handy! =^-^=

I swear, i need to PAY someone to do the SEO thing... it's so darn complicated and I have a creative/sales/marketing brain not a computer brain.

Thank You guys :), I didn't even know about SEO, turns out im pretty popular in the google search results though, but not many people make gothic rag dolls so its understandable lol!

I looked at a listing of yours and one thing I would suggest as one of your 13 tags would be "hot topic". You would be surprised how many people would put that in the search instead of words like sad and some of the others you listed.

Also try to join teams that have fans of gothic items and kawaii. It will help a bit with promotion.

Facebook.... twitter use to work really well, but I took a break from that... need to get back into it... I'm hoping eventually my blot but I only have 2 posts on that so far.

The best for me has been personal interaction. I have my business cards with me everywhere I go now :). I don't have a lot of sales on Etsy yet but I have done a lot of sales just locally.

Amanda that is a fantastic idea thank you, I never even thought to put that in my tags, and yes I have not been the best at choosing tags lol!

Yeah I definitely should do some local promotion, I kind of feel awkward about it so I never have lol! anddd I started up a twitter last night so hopefully that will help me out as well thank you for all the help :)! I have been on etsy for a year now and when I realized it was a year and I had only made 12 sales I had to get serious if I want to succeed, and my inventory is wayyyy too small right now!!

Two years with 22 sales, not great either and I belong to every site mentioned, tweet, FB, Squidoo and many many more, but not one of them has brought in a single sale. Most of my sales come directly from Etsy.

By the way, I've paid for SEO but the advice is so complicated that I cannot follow it correctly, don't know what I am doing, or it just doesn't work because even after receiving professional help I still cannot get it right.

So be careful before you pay for help.
